I returned a purchase on ebay, and was refunded through paypal of the purchase but not the tax. I asked the seller and seller told me ebay is collecting my tax. It's no wonder Ebay rates a 1 or less on the BBB Board. As a former Seller, Ebay never complies to their own policies re: Protecting Sellers from Threats; Feedback Extortion and buyer's remorse. I honestly don't think they read if a Seller sends a complaint to them...because they always side with the customer. Ebay has a TRS policy which is used to punish sellers their search listing status, discount on fees, paypal status are all tied to this system. This system is completely unchecked by ebay and is relying on a buyer to be honest. My husband and I have been eBay members, buying and selling for more than 11 years. Never had any problem, until now. Their new policy is holding the seller hostage and not allowing us to receive the funds for 21 days AFTER the item was paid for,even though we are supposed to ship it. I don't think eBay treats sellers fair! eBay makes it to easy for buyers to take advantage of sellers. It's hard to contact help on eBay. If you try to email them you never get a reply. eBay is the worst company I have ever seen in terms of service. They just rip off everybody, both sellers and buyers. The only thing they care is their own fees. Beware of ebay as it is no longer seller friendly and the new rules governing payments and the holds on payments are unacceptable. Ultimately these changes will mean that it will be less attractive to buyers with declining volumne and types of merchandise. michaels_bodykits_and_more eBay account was suspended indefinitely due to low buyer satisfaction. The feedback score for this account is 99% positive. That means only 1% of buyers were not satisfied. Ebay is little more than a community of thieves and opportunists waiting to take advantage of the trustworthy. I bought a car part that was advertised as fitting a 97-2000 Mustang but when it didn't fit my 97 Mustang because it actually only fits 99-2000, I was told to return it for a full refund. I have been an eBay member since 2009. I have 100% positive feedback, 265 stars, Top Rated Seller status and Power Seller status. I was an eBay member for over 10 years. The first 7 years were great, but the last 3 have been terrible. Was a seller for 10 years and because of 1 claim from a buyer my account was terminated just like that. eBay is the worst place to sell your stuff online, they will charge you tons of fees and let the buyer have refunds when they contact them. Ebay has very poor customer service and they do not value their customers at all. I have bought & sold on Ebay for 10 years and because of one buyer who had no postive feedback making a mistake they are now charging me higher fees to sell! I bought a laptop from a seller nepatech with numerous problems not mentioned in the listing So I messaged the seller nepatech that if he didnt fix the problems I was leaving him negative feedback. Under "eBay's Buyer's Protection", the resolution center favored my claim and instructed me to mail the item back to the seller by July 6 so that eBay would refund me directly $1,250 that I paid. I have read thru the hundreds of complaints against Ebay-I do not see one issue addressed that needs to be: Ebay requires the payments be made thru paypal (a subsidiary of Ebay) which charges fees for its use of your money as well but is not governed by LAW to follow the sames guidelines in handling your money as ALL financial instituions in the US. I sold an item on eBay. It was brand new and unopened. I sent it to my customer. They played with it and then broke it. Never overpay your E-BAY seller fees as you will have to wait days to receive your refund. E-Bays seller fee site is not easy to understand therefore I did not realize that E-Bay had already deducted seller fees from my bank account on May 4th. On May 5th I checked my seller account and it showed I still owed fees so I then paid the fees using my Paypal account. eBay deserves zero stars. They lie to buyers about their policies for sellers. They don't punish sellers who refuse to accept $ when their auction doesn't sell for high enough $. As of April 19th, 2011, E-bay has changed their auction-style standard listing fees so that the first 50 listings are free starting from $.01 to $200+, the Buy It Now feature is free, BUT the Final Value Fee (the percentage E-bays charges sellers) is now 9.0% AND INCLUDES THE AMOUNT OF SHIPPING (as if shipping is a part of a sellers profits, or it's free in their mind). Customer service is an absolute joke! I got an email from customer service telling me how great of a seller I was. I got shut down the next day for poor seller ratings. In my experience, if you're a buyer eBay's great. But they treat their sellers like redheaded stepchildren. Customer service is a joke. There is no phone number that I'm aware of you can call for help unless you're a Power Seller. And even then, you're on hold for up to an hour. All other sellers must send an email. This company is not recommended as their resolution is slow. If you have any issues, it is very difficult to find a resolution yourself. If you can't find what you're looking for in the automated system, you are given an oppurtunity to talk to a live person. You may sit on hold between 20-30 minutes (like I did), so be sure you're not doing anything or can multi-task while waiting. Since eBay changed it's policies to prevent sellers from leaving negative feedback for buyers, the abuse by buyers with regards to return policies, shipping times, ignoring item descriptions, etc. has run rampant. I've been both a buyer and PowerSeller on Ebay. I'm finding that neither is treated well. As a buyer, I've recently won/purchased multiple items that were received NOT AS DESCRIBED. Ebay encourages you to leave appropriate feedback, I would assume to weed out the bad sellers but in doing so, I was reprimanded for my "behavior" and all of my negative feedback was removed. EBay actually helps the buyer rip you off. Had a buyer purchase three things from me; two low cost items and one expensive. The buyer immediately opened a dispute and was asked to return the items back to me with delivery conformation. Only the two low cost items arrived in the box not the expensive one. Sold an item on ebay. The Buyer paid $225.00 and when he or she recived it wasnt happy. In the add for this item I sold it as is for parts only. It was in my add just that way as well as BID ACCORDINGLY, ebay (paypal) held that money as the looked it over.
