NA Shade & Associates maintains a "strategic partnership" with a horrible management company called UNC Community Management led by ex-cop Ron Shearer. NA Shade does minimal service at best. At worst, he is actively supporting an oppressive management company. Adobe Hills contracts with vendor Mark Shade to serve as our Bookkeeper. How many HOAs do Ron Shearer and Mark Shade service together, as property manager and bookkeeper? Please provide the names of the HOAs. Was this arrangement previously disclosed to homeowners? If so, when and how? They make lots of errors then bill you for their mistakes. Horrible HOA management company. Owner is snarky and condescending. Takes forever for them to sort out errors. Never call back unless you yell at them to get a supervisor to return the call. Staff that answer the phones are dumber than dirt. If you have a choice, do not choose them. They eat up the HOA money as well. Read More »

I give this company a NEGATIVE rating! I have been calling them to get a refund of my HOA overpayment and until now, 9 months after I sold my condo unit, I have not received it. They have given me all kinds of excuses like the Board of Directors sign the check but they only meet every so often or they sent the check but it was lost in the mail and now they have to wait until the Board meet again so they can sign the new check, etc! For 4 months in a row they were not able to correctly process my simple HOA payments correctly (which by the way were mailed through a payment service weeks before the due date). Even after submitting proof they tried to use late fees and accumulated interest to push me into making double payments. I must admit, this is a horrible HOA management company to work with. I called all morning during business hours 10-11:45 and was unable to get through to an operator. The greeting said I can email my request to an email, however, the email is invalid.... It bounced back several times even after I tried guessing another similar email name. We have had nothing but a hard time when dealing with Mark and his staff at N A Shades & Associates. Each staff member you talk to gives you different information and nothing is consistent. The staff are nice initially but then became very rude and dishonest. The manager/owner Mark Shade is completely flaky, unprofessional, and doesn't follow through with his words, nor does he solve issues. You are lucky if you can get a hold of him. First, I only choose 1 star because there is no option for ZERO stars, they are from any 'star' rating. I am completely shocked this company is in business as their customer service is awful. EVERYONE in the office including Mark the owner or whatever he is is extremely RUDE and do not even try to help or explain anything.
