talked to the company and agreed a payment wouldn't be taken out for the week, they took it anyway ... caused numerous overdraft charges .... contacted them immediately and they said it would take over a week to refund the money because they had to make sure it went through, nevermind that they had $1700 of my money sitting in an account waiting to pay the monthly bills .... tried to explain to three different "managers" they all said they can't help me it takes however long it takes ... had... When I purchased my new Nissan, I was offered SMART payments for my loan. Since my loan was over $600 per month, my weekly debit was only $150. The business manager made me aware of the Lifetime fee of $399 which is well worth the convenience. Since I had a 72 month loan, Smart knocked off more than 6 months and reduced the interest by over $450. I am also considering putting my mortgage on SMART. when the dealership recommended this company; they didn't tell us: 1. it costs $299 to sign up 2. they charge $1.95 every time the draw 3. it is our responsibility to cancel the plan if we pay off the loan I'm sure the plan rep told us all this over the phone in a rapid, non-English voice and "that if we didn't agree that the loan agreement will have to be re-negotiated". When I purchased a new car about 2 1/2 yrs ago the dealer told me about Smart Payments Plan. Smart Payments Plan would automatically withdraw a payment from my checking account every two weeks which would speed up the payment of the car loan. If you want the most convenient way in the world to make your car payment Smart Payment Plan is the way to go. I am so glad the dealership offered this to me it made buying my car so much easier. I just set the payment dates and I never have to worry about them again. If somebody wants his bills paid late, this is the right company and if you want to call somebody (due to the high volume of calls = complaints) you need to have all the patience in the world. They barely explain what is the benefit of their so called big saving, while you can set, for no cost, the same service with the bank that financed your vehicle (in my case). I was signed up by Phil Long Ford, who led me to believe I was entering a payment system directly with the lender, for biweekly payments. I was not informed of the 399.99 sign up fee or of the 1.95 debit fee for each withdrawal. I feel blessed that the finance manager at the dealership I bought my Toyota FJ Cruiser at shared this idea. I was always unorganized when it came down to figuring out which bills were due when. - Build Credit, Pay Loan Quicker, Smaller Payments I really don't see this as anything other than a "No Brainer". I love Smart Pay. Pays loans off quicker, builds credit, and eliminates late fees. The finance manager at the dealership where I bought my 13 Genesis told me they refer to it as "set it and forget it" and I have to say nothing has ever been more true!!!! I have my house, my lake house, my Harley, wife's car and my 2015 Silverado all on smart payment plan. I figured the interest savings of over $128,000 dollars and this is after tax money. Saving me time and money, getting email reminders of payments made.....God Bless America! I have personally watched smart payment plan help multiple people better budget themselves, gain equity in their cars faster, and save THOUSANDS on interest! For one person in particular it was the difference in him being able to keep his truck or risk repossession and ruin his credit!!! I bought a Nissan Altima from my local dealer and was offered smartpayment plan. I liked that the plan helped me budget as my payments are now scheduled around my pay days. This makes everything more manageable for me. I have since gone back to the dealership and they helped me put my mortgage on the program too. We took loan through dealer and dealer just said its a payment plan setup and setup our debit details to smart payment plan without notify us any details and the smart payment plan said, they sent us welcome pack explaining the plan, but we got nothing in mail , than the debit dates from smart payment plan. When we got our 2012 Hyundai Accent, they asked us to sign up for this. Since my husband is in the Army and gets paid on the same dates (for the most part) every month we thought this would be great! They took out our first payment two weeks before it was due, but the finance company called a week after the payment was due (three weeks after it was debited from our account) and said it hadn't been paid. Smart Payment Plan, might sound great: have your payments come out by your payday & pay down your loan faster! However, they neglect to mention that the one time fee is actually reoccurring & you end up paying more for their service than you would if you were to use your bank's online banking. For example, I pay 60 dollars a month to use their service which is an overpayment of 720 dollars a year.
