I received a telephone call from a Mr. David Bennett, stating that he represented your company, Universal Financial Services. He was interested in selling my timeshare at The Cottages, Myrtle Beach, SC. After several minutes the fact that he sounded very sincere, I agreed to forward the $1,500 to him. I received a call at 6:10 pm 11/19/10 from a Michael Jones saying that he had buyers for timeshare units we have for sale (much the same as previous reviewers). He gave me Universal Financial Services name and address as the business he worked for. The caller ID number is a Florida cell phone (1-305-433-3654) which raised a red flag. I received a phone call by a person named Michael Jones using the name of this company and their address, but with a 800 phone #, with a business proposition regarding a time share that I hold in Orlando, Florida. He claimed he had a buyer for my property, and that the buyer was taking care of all of the closing costs, but I would have to pay $1,898 for documentation and title transfer fees. I was called by a man named John Morgan from Universal Financial Services or so he claimed. When they sent my email some information, I checked the BBB and noticed the numbers did not match and called Mr. Mowbray listed with BBB as the president of Universal Financial Services and he called me back. We have had an experience similar to the previous reviewer. My stepson was contacted on 10/15/10 about a time share he has for sale, by a John Morgan who claimed to work for Universal Financial Services. Mr. Morgan claimed he had a buyer for my stepson's time share who was ready and willing to pay even more than it is worth and asked for an upfront $2,000 payment for lawyer fees and deed transfer fee.
