I'm over confirmed that Docstoc is a big scammer. I've been messaging after messaging its customer care since February 20, 2014. But it's really weird that till now I've been getting the worst customer support from their part. I had a docstore (a store for selling premium documents) account in that site. I just got off of the phone with this rude California company. Because this web site is abusive in that it requires millions of potential customers to spend minutes upon precious minutes, clicking through multiple paths, and terms and categories and options, even requiring that potential customers complete the entire custom document BEFORE being told what the fee options are, ... This site has thousands of illegally obtained documents and if you download them, you are liable as well. They don't vet "members" who have dubious screen names--many of whom are hackers illegally obtaining files and posting them to make a profit. Owners often have no idea how their documents, illegally obtained make it on this site. DocStoc's process is to wait until an owner finds a document and files a complaint. I ended up on this site in search of some information via a Google search. I clicked the Download button to download the document, and a box popped up stating that I needed to simple enter my e-mail to gain access to the document. I entered my e-mail, then on the next page (AFTER they have my e-mail to spam or do whatever they want with), I see that the story changes...and I need to pay for get access to the document. This company's website promises that you can cancel the subscription within a certain period of time. However, all of my emails to customer service remained unanswered. Don't even try to find a phone number on their website - these people don't want to talk to you, for a reason! I had to go through my CC company to dispute their charges.
