Since Oct 2010, we continue to be billed maintenance fees from the Williamsburg timeshare that we essentially paid Transfer on the Spot to take. A real giveaway. That was my foolish decision. As others have posted, we have gone 14 months on the promise of time share relief, but to no avail. Per their contract, they promised to pay maintenance fees. They did for the first few months, and then nothing this past year. It is a series of revolving doors with many broken promises. My Husband and I decided to use them to get out of our timeshare on 7/1/2012. We were definitely a bit skeptical at first, especially after reading some not so nice reviews online. We continued to contact them at least once a month just to check on our status. We weren't thrilled about forking over the costs to cancel our contract especially since we were already in a bit of debt from keeping our maintenance fees and those special assessments up to date, but it was well worth it now that we don't have that timeshare to worry about. My wife and I paid 5000. Dollars and signed a contract to sell our timeshare back in Oct-Nov. 2010. Then in late September 2011 we signed a second set of title company papers. I contacted Better Business Beau to get an answer from someone, and we where willing to wait the 10 or 12 more weeks while the new title search company processed the new papers. I am so glad I discovered Transfer on the Spot or actually they were the ones that discovered me. When I received their postcard in the mail I was curious as to what they could do for me. I was scammed into buying a timeshare and I have been scammed trying to get out. This industry has pissed me off so much that I was ready to sue somebody. However, my wife's sister told us about a company that helped her friends get out of a timeshare and it sounded interesting. In the last year I had already been scammed twice. Once by a listing company and another time by a company that promised they would sell my timeshare for me. This company is a big SCAM !!!! They did not hesitate to cash our $ 2500 check back in July, then.....(Crickets Chirping). We have called 25+ times in the last two months asking for an update or for our money back and no body at customer service EVER returns our phone call. I would like to know what is in it for them to take our time shares, when we are wanting to get out of the maintenance debt, we are giving the debt to them. So what is in it for them? If it sounds too good to be true...... amazingly enough, it is usually TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! Timeshares can be a burden, but if you actually use and / or trade the weeks to go different places, it can be a good deal. Example: Orlando FL. There for a week to do the Disney experience. Traded a space banked week for a three (3) bedroom, 2 1/2 bath condo 5 minutes from the resort. With maintenance fees that year, the cost of RCI, and the transfer fee, cost me about $750.00. We signed up for this program in November of 2010 in Ashville North Carolina. We were told that all would be transferred within 120 days. We are now into our 7th month of waiting and nothing has been done at this point that I can see. I have called and called for weeks at a time and have gotten no where at all. I can't believe all these people LIKE Transfer on the Spot. Before you use them call your timeshare company. I called my timeshare company and they released me from my deed for $250, NOT the $3500 Transfer on the Spot wanted. I did get my money back from Transfer on the Spot because I cancelled within the three days, but the cell phone number they gave me didn't work, the emails came back undeliverable. My minor son has been receiving phone calls and mail from Transfer On the Spot. I've asked them to stop calling. Today he recieved more mail. I called to ask that he be taken off the mail list. We met with them last week in NY. Our experience was HORRIBLE. The first salesperson was very nice, persistant but very nice. The second salesperson was downright RUDE !! Met with Transfer on the Spot last week. Timeshares work for many people - especially if you use them to trade and don't just go there and sit for a week. BUT, if you add up the maintenance fees over the years, and look at how much they've gone up, to say nothing of how much more they will go up, it sometimes doesn't make that much sense. I recieved a postcard from Transfer on the Spot and when I called them, they led me to believe that I would be SELLING my timeshare right then and there. So I se up an appointment for August 31st. Before I left for the appointment, I thought I would check them out online. If you want to pay someone to take your timeshare - then go to one of these presentations. I recently went to a presentation (Jul 2010) for Transfer on the Spot my timeshare. The presentation was very informative and made me aware of things that I had not considered before as of the long term overall cost of owing a timeshare. We just returned from a presentation by Transfer on the Spot, a subsidiary of TimeShare Relief, Inc. They offer to relieve you of your troublesome, (if fully paid for and all maintenance fees are current) timeshare and will transfer the deed right then and there, with a notary and everything.
