In May 2013 I paid $ to this company to sell them my Timeshare. I sent all requested information to the company ie Deed maintenance docs and paid for a notary and certified mail. We started the process by attending a presentation in May 2011, and paid $7k+ right then to offload 2 timeshares. We are still waiting for the process to be completed. Responses to our requests for updates have been received from the transfer companies who are dealing with the resorts, saying that the paperwork was submitted to the resorts, and it takes several weeks to get that done. Pros: - It worked! - They thoroughly explained the process at the presentation and why it costs what it does. Cons: - It's expensive (multiply your maintenance/tax fee by about 5 or 6 for an approximate cost). - It took about 4 - 5 months to get the official paperwork proving that we no longer owned it. The process was a little slower than expected (4 months versus 3) but my timeshare did transfer. I was paying really high maintenance fees and I am glad that I am done and do not have to pay another bill, ever! TransferAmerica has had my money since October of 2010 and have failed to pay the maintenance fees as agreed in the contract. We responded to TV ad. from, TA Representatives were cordial. Fee was to be $3,338 for a unit in Polo Towers, Nev Reviewing this BBB site about TA I saw someone said contact Timeshare company directly and they would transfer title back to them for $250.00 dollars. Transfer America has had $3002.00 of our money since August 14, 2010, with the promise of paying our maintenance fees and transferring our timeshare ownership to them. Eight months later they still have our money and have not paid maintenance fees or transferred the timeshare. Roslyn worked with me immediately after I wrote on the internet. She messaged me almost every two weeks just to update me. I feel like she's one of my friends. A lot of people don't have people in their customer service department, I would really recommend it to anyone. We're really happy that we unloaded the two timeshares. I signed up for their information phone-in/internet live webinar today. Not until a solid 20 min. into the presentation did they begin to mention their fees. For a time share with a $500 year maintenance fee they wanted $4700 to transfer! I will not do business with a company that is secretive about costs, etc unless you meet face to face with them, so I suggest TransferAmerica be more informative in their letter. The letter states that when M/M MacMillan tried to sell their TS, the company "wanted $500 listing fee". Later in their letter they state "for a one time transfer CONSIDERATION...". I have talked to others who are interested in not keeping their timeshares anymore and told them about Transfer America.
