What a dreadful Company...... Jade Mendenhall is a really good liar. She promised to be there to help, I called her number several times and got an answer machine. I left messages but never received any reply. Direct Transfers farms all their transfers to Preferred Transfers. Took us a while to realize the timeshare purchase was a mistake. Always new fees and/or regulations and restrictions. After contacting Direct Transfers and listening to Ben Lamb we made the decision to work with them. Yes, there was a fee but we felt it was worth it to get away from the timeshare burden. We had been contacted by numerous companies regarding "getting rid of" our timeshare. When we checked, most of them were not reputable companies. BEFORE you trust this company, call your timeshare resort and speak to someone in the business office or where you mail your maintenance fees. We found out in our case that one of the timeshares where we owned will INDEED allow you to deed back your property to them, and the cost would have been somewhere around $400. I was promised a certificate for 2 round trip airline tickets anywhere in the continental US for attending a presentation. I was told that there was a $50 reservation fee for the flight. When I called back later to cancel my appointment the lady on the phone said that this fee was charged by the airlines and that it was refundable as long as I showed up for the flight and that there were no other fees involved. We were very pleased with the service provided to us by Direct Transfers. We were very skeptical at first, but Tonnie was polite and courteous, and answered all our concerns. I wouldn't trust them. After being told they would pay me for my timeshare I agreed to make an appointment. Then I read the reviews for this company and called them directly to find out if I would have to pay a fee to them or they would buy my timeshare from me. The woman I talked to was very evasive and said she was just a call center. Trying to get rid of a timeshare that is no longer meeting your needs or expectations can be frustrating. Realizing that it is worthless (if you are trying to sell it) makes the matter worse. Getting rid of a timeshare is kind of like having a wart or mole removed without any pain killer. No matter how well it goes, it still hurts. I heard the Direct Transfer ad on the radio and assumed that they were interested in buying my time share. When I called the number, the rep asked me where my time share was because she told me they were only interested in certain time shares. I told them, and she said that is one they wanted. It's been a very happy 2011 for my wife and I thanks to Direct Transfers. We'd been struggling the last two years to keep up with the escalating maintenace fees and tax assessments. I am still in awe at how Direct Transfers were able to make it possible to be completely free of owning our timeshare.
