I couldn’t agree with Denise R. more - we are in the same situation. The agency representatives give the au pairs poor advice regarding social distancing practices and promote risky behavior that goes against CDC guidelines. Au pairs are encouraged by the agency to prioritize travel and making the most of this ‘cultural exchange’ above the needs of the medically fragile and immunocompromised population they are here to serve. I am disappointed with this agency for several reasons. 1. Our au pair arrived in late January 2020. When Covid 19 hit, she routinely reminded me that "all the other au pairs are going home to Germany." (A veiled threat when we are in a vulnerable situation.) We took incredibly good care of our au pair through the pandemic and minimized her workday to ensure she was never stressed out. Another unsaturated ProAuPair customer here. We were drawn in by their claims of professionalism. What we got were two completely unprofessional, lazy, and self-centered children. Their experience was greatly overstated, and they lied to us over and over again. The first girl was like having a spoiled teenager in the house. ProAuPair solved our childcare problems and has allowed me to return to work full-time. With two special needs children, I was unsure I would be able to find a nanny or Au Pair with the right qualifications. But ProAuPair put us in touch with two highly qualified candidates right away. I particularly liked being able to review information about the available Au Pair candidates online at the beginning of the selection process. I also thought the process was relatively speedy. ProAuPair was very helpful in helping us find the best Au Pair for our family. We chose this agency because the Au Pairs are qualified to work with children who have special needs.
