California Truck Driving Academy in Santa Ana gets a five star rating. The Academy Director, Bryon Allen, has over 30 years in the trucking industry, 29 of them with one supermarket chain. Truck Driving is not just a job it is a career. Great school learned everything i needed to know to get my permit within the first week then after that the rest of the weeks went by so quick. At first i was a bit worried about the skills training because i had never driven a manual vehicle but rolando the skills instructor helped me out a lot. I liked CTDA from the day I started. The academy itself is very clean, and in the first week of classroom training it was great the instructor, Byron is super nice and teaches fantasticly and the other students where great too. When I got to the skill yard I started learning within 5mins of showing up until I went to the dmv. I got my class A CDL and every endorsement there is. I learned so much so quick and the instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful. From day one it was hands on and right to business. The registration process was smooth. They will make sure that you are well prepared for the written tests at the DMV. They will work with you until you get the backing skills. Overall, this class can move very quickly but they will continue to reinforce the concepts until you understand them. Be patient because while the program might be listed for 5 weeks it can go longer if you have problems with the skills or fail the DMV test. Read More »

To All, Please save your money and goes some where else. All the companies out there are going to retrain you anyways. Just get your license in the cheapest way possible. Please don't go to California Truck Driving Academy. This school is really bad. They told me that I would be finished in about 6 weeks. It took 6 months, they have a really high staff turn over. The California Truck Driving Academy went above and beyond my expectations. I was given all the materials needed for the class, all the time in the world to drive, and I have a full understanding of tractors and driving them. I've been a trucker for over 10 years, driving only manual transmission (automatic). I went to CTDA to remove restrictions off my license, and took a refresher class. The classroom instruction was top of the line for learning all the logistics about a tractor and trailer. The way that the information is taught and presented, you go to the dmv with 100% confidence you will pass. When it comes to the driving portion, the instructors are the best. I had the opportunity to research and visit a few truck driving schools around the the Orange County Area and CTDA stood out far beyond the rest. First let me say this is not really a school. It's an Academy. It's very intense and hands on. It's going to be a little much for some people. You're going to get last minute texts about start times, they're going to change the hours on you, they are really going to fuck with you, and you may find it annoying. The school delivered all that they promised. We were kept on tight schedule and were expected to follow the instructor’s instructions to the letter. Within a day of getting my CDL “B” I was interviewing for jobs. This is amazing because the industry is looking for 1-3 years’ experience.
