It costs $1.00 to subscribe to the "free" 7 day trial, and $31.95 for the "free" credit report. When questioned, they stonewall on issuing a refund, when asked to speak to a supervisor, they put you on hold then offer $17 back. Read More »

My complaint was resolved and my money refunded by Freecreditscore.com. I would like to ask the company to be more specific as to their 7 day trial period. I signed up on the 15th, cancelled on the 22nd as I thought that was the 7th day. I was told that I would still be charged becasue the actual 7th day had been the 21st. This company seemed like a good idea at the time. However, it is NOT! If you want to keep your bank accounts and your identity I suggest using another company and to call and talk to someone from the company you look at using and do loads of homework on the company as well. Signing up for the free 7 day trial was fine but I clicked on the "3 report link" which then charged me $31. The website is misleading in that the buttons for both reports are right next to each other and no charge is stated on the button itself, you have to read the fine print to find that out. I never received a receipt and most people who don't watch their finances would never know about the charge. I gave my credit card number to freecreditscore.com in order to get my credit score. I knew that I would have to cancel my membership within seven days in order to avoid getting charged. This was all clearly indicated up front. What I didn't know is that it's extremely easy to end up ordering a separate (and I guess more detailed) report for $31.95. I give 5 stars for the quick resolution TrustLink gave me to my problem but I'd give 0 stars to FreeCreditScore.com for openly deceiving its customers in the first place. They scam you out of your money and then try to stop you from getting out of the trap you're in if you try to call them and get out. Once I explained my issue, the BBB got involved very quickly. The company, came to a better understanding of the issue. With this understanding, we were able to reach a conclusion in very little time. I commend their fast response to the BBB, and more importantly, I want to thank them for taking action. FreeCreditScore.com refunded me a fee I did not realize I was getting myself into, and I appreciate that. I can't go back and look at the screen as it lay, but I was being careful yet still slipped into requesting a $29.95 fee for 3 credit scores, instead of the 1 free one. Their "score tracker" graph doesn't even match their stated "credit score", and it's been that way for 9 months. Eighteen emails later (and counting), the matter still isn't resolved! Although I received a full refund, I have no intention of rewarding this company for their predatory practices towards consumers. I really feel that someone should shutdown their website because it is a blatant lie. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against this company for deceptive practices and poor customer server. It turns out that a ‘free credit report’ cost $29.95 if you want a full report from all three companies. I used free credit report and freecreditscore, I guess it could be confusing if you don't read the Important Information on the front page of the site. When you order your experian report, or if its FCS just the score-free during the trial only it comes up,"do you want the other 2 for 29.95?" There are two major problems with this company. First, they participate in false advertising. Second, their customer service team is poorly-trained. Freecreditreport did it to me. First, they charge you $1.00 for you credit report. Once inside the web page, the button states "get your 3 credit reports". Once you hit this, you are charged the $29.95 fee. Then, once you go beyond the free trial of 9 days, they hit you with a $14.95 membership fee. I am still upset with the way the whole thing happened bc I never authorized any charges and I DID cancel my reports and still got charged. I requested a credit report that I saw no indication there would be a charge for. They refunded my money, for which I am grateful. But they get two stars because I had to file with the BBB in order for them to do it. When I called them directly, they refused.
