I wish I wouldn't have had to go to the BBB to get my problem resolved, but they did resolve it favorably, and quickly. I would give them 4 stars as a company because I think they provide a good service, though you can easily 1-click your way to a charge that you don't want. I was asked this week to provide a credit report to a prospective employer, so I logged in to creditreport.com. I was having log in problems, so I called customer service. After getting me logged in, the customer service rep. told me to click on the $1.00 credit report link to get an updated report for $1.00. So, of course, it didn't work! Thanks you for getting this matter resolved. But, if you look at their response they said "We do not normally refund these purchases as they are delivered instantly online at the time of order". My issue was resolved. I signed up for the one week free trial for a credit report and free credit score with a donation of $1. I received the credit report and credit score with no problem however when I checked my account I realized I had been charged an additional $29.95. I spoke to a company representative and was told I must have clicked on a link that gave me all three credit bureau scores and needed to be charged the $29.95 as a result. I did not notice the fine print when obtaining a free credit check from this company and was enrolled in their monthly service plan and charged accordingly. I am glad that I was given a full refund because I really did not know or understand what I had gotten myself into. All I visited the website for was a free credit report. I put my information in and ended up being charged 19.95. I feel the website did not make the information available for me to see. I had to report them to the BBB to get a full refund. I ordered online expecting 3 free credit reports, and only received one. I cancelled within 7 business days and was told I would not be charged. I found out 2 days later that I was charged the day I cancelled. I called again and requested a refund. The personnel were all courteous. Ridiculous, these people advertise a free credit report, I object as it's underhanded what they do to get someone's credit card number as well as personal information and begin charging their card monthly. Then I get an apology and am supposed to accept it? No way, not until they stop this false advertising. This company is using false advertising. This credit report is NOT free unless you sign up, view your ONE report and cancel within the first seven days. The problem is that none of this information is viewable until you've given them your credit card information, supposedly to charge $1 to make sure you're the person whom the credit report is for. This company is a total fraud. They are using their affiliate marketers to post bogus job Ads on criagslist across the country and when you apply to one of these bogus jobs you get a reply saying that you are one of five people being considered for the job and that they want to schedule an interview, but first they require you to get your credit score. I do appreciate that fact that they finally gave me a full refund of the fee that was charged in error. The bad part about it is, I had to report them to BBB to receive it. CreditReport.com worked with the BBB to really come to a good solution to the problem I had. I had signed up for a free credit report and ended up getting charged for what was supposed to be a free report. Thanks to TrustLink my issue with CreditReport.com was resolved quickly. My money was refunded after contacting the BBB and TrustLink. I appreciate the quick response from CreditReport.com. I went to the website to view my free credit report. It was not clear that by doing that I was actually signed up for their service. I never even accepted this. I backed out of it and I didn't know I had it until 8 months later. I pay my credit card online and it was always the same amount. When I made a large purchase, I went and looked at my statement and there it was. I never logged in nor did I ever look at any credit report. I, along with others, it seems should have come here first before trusting creditreport.com. I too was scammed out of $29.95, not once, but twice. I ordered reports for both my husband and I. I did not see the disclaimer, which customer service says is clearly stated on the website, about the $29.95 charge to view all 3 reports. This company is an absolute fraud and should be not allowed to be in business. They lure you in with a promise of "free credit report" and offer a "trial membership" to see if you like it yet within 5 minutes they charged my card for 29.95.
