I was solicited by United Mortgage Center, a company claiming to negotiate with my mortgage lender to reduce the interest rate on my mortgage. When I checked their website, www.unitedmorgagecenter.org, and spoke to their associates they discussed Obama's programs, HARP and HAMP. Having previously take advantage of the HARP program, I was secure in the knowledge that it could save me tons. United Mortgage Consulting/United Mortgage Center is a false company created by a group of crooks with the intention of stealing your money. Try calling the number listed and you'll get an out of service message. Too bad for me this happened AFTER they took $2500 out of my checking account. The people I dealt with in the short amount of time went by the names Erin, Diana and Tiffany. Erin came across as very friendly and went over my debts very carefully.
