Ripp Off Scam Artist
I too fell victim to these people. I canceled contract 24 hrs after signing authorization form. I put a stop payment on the check I faxed to them and needless to say they went around and still took my money.Do not do business with these people. They wear
you down with their phone calls and once they get their money you no longer hear from them.

MRA=Major Ripoff Associates !!
Like some of the reviewers already here, I was told the same story and they asked me to pay them $2500. so they could make my mtg. payments lower, and stop any foreclosure proceedings.
I told them I had no cash to pay them, so they suggested I should use my future mtg. payment money to pay them 1st, so they could use it to stop foreclosure, which I was not threatened with because my payments were on time and up to date at that time.
I was suspicious at this point, but I was curious how the mtg. recast would work, in order to lower my payments and possibly my mtg. balance, so I stayed on the phone with them awhile.
As I expected, they told me to stop making mtg. payments to make myself delinquent, so my bank would start foreclosure proceedings against me. Said I should send them my mtg. payments instead and they would be used for my fees. But I needed to save up or borrow at least 3/4 of the $2500. that week, because they needed it right away. They were very pushy about getting their money fast or I would lose out on saving my home.
I told them I had heard that nobody is allowed to charge fees to anyone looking for a foreclosure stoppage or mtg. refi, under any conditions or any gov't programs. Told them, their plan sounded illegal and I didn't want to take a chance on losing my money or my home to them. I hung up.
Recently, they called me again on both my home phone and cell. Left messages on both too. I was there. I just ignored their calls.
The person who left the messages went by the name of "Megan Castillo".
The number she left to call back, was: #323-303-3376. Her message said that they wanted to speak to me about an important legal matter concerning my mtg. company, who they named correctly. I did not return her calls. I decided to 1st look up The MRA Group she said she was from on her 1st message. And here I am !!
I don't know how this group of people has been allowed to continue getting away with this for so long ? They truly need to be arrested and put away, for ripping off so many people. Someone should be able to tell us who to call to have them be done with. There could be many more out there like them, but so far..I've only known of this group.
Please do yourself a favor and stay away from these people. They will only steal what little money you can get your hands on, in your time of need.
Go to your own mtg. company and ask them to help you 1st. If not them...then go to another bank who is reputable and try again.
If neither works, look for gov't programs that are out there to help. One I know of is called H.A.R.P., but you'll have to make some calls to get the info. Don't give up too easily. Keep trying to save your home. I'm sure there are safer things to go to than this MRA Group !!
Stay Away from them !!! They will only take your money & run. They will NOT help you save your home !! Run !!

I JUST ONLY WISH I HAD READ REVIEWS BEFORE I PAID MONEY TO THESE CROOKS. MY PERSON ROGER PRICE, WAS ANXIOUS AND HELPFUL WHEN FIRST SIGNING ME UP AND MAKING SURE MY PAYMENTS WERE MADE. AFTER ALL MY MONEY WAS RECEIVED HE NEVER ANSWERED PHONE OR RETURNED CALL. PLEASE DON'T LET ME LEAVE OFF THAT GENERIC EMAIL THEY SEND TELLING YOU YOUR FILE IS BEING REVIEWED. MY QUESTION WAS BY WHO MY BANK SAID I DIDN'T QUALIFY FOR REMOD SO WHO ARE YOU SENDING DOCUMENTS TO. I NEVER RECEIVED ANSWER, I FINALLY ASKED FOR REFUND AND LIKE THE OTHER WRITER I HAVE YET TO RECEIVED REPONSE. SO PLEASE TAKE IF FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN TAKEN BY MRA GROUP DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY. AS A MATTER OF FACT THEY SHOULD BE TAKEN TO COURT AND PUT OUT OF BUSINESS. HOW CAN THEY BE ALLOWED TO PROFIT OFF OF OTHER PEOPLES MISERY.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY
My husband and I fell onto difficult times in 2011. The MRA group contacted us PROMISING they could get our mortgage payments decreased to 650/month and lower the interest to below 4%. For over 3 months I sent them documents after documents - but kept receiving foreclosure mail from my mortgage lender. During the 4th month my mortgage co. contacted me telling me my modification was approved based on the papers I sent them - NOT the MRA group. That was $2500 later. I wouldn't even rate them with one star!

Upset
We have been dealing with this company since October. Everytime I call oh yes we are working on it. Everything is fine. They got their $2500 fee and I am left with a sheriff sale tomorrow 3/16/12. So I decided to take my own action and Called the Attorney's that the mortgage company is using and the lady was super nice and said that my mortgage company hasn't received any of my information. HOLY COW! I paid the MRA group to do nothing. That is so awesome, NOT. So don't use this company at all.

Do Not Do Business With Mortgage Relief Advocates
These people promised to lower my interest rate to 4% or better guaranteed. After careful consideration, I sent them the $1900.00 with a guarantee that if they could not reduce my interest rate along with eight other factors, I would receive a refund minus $750.00 for administrative costs. We have been at this over a year and have been turned down twice by my mortgage company saying I did not qualify for any mortgage relief programs. I finally told MRA I had enough and I wanted my refund of $1150.00 as they did not fulfill any of the requirements as promised by contract. That was over a month ago. I have sent three emails and tried to call leaving messages with no attempt by them to contact me. So, my advice to anyone considering using the services of Mortgage Relief Advocates run away, far away. Your money will be better spent by you.
