Is there a way I can file discrimination with the Sonic-Drive In company? i know it sounds paranoid or ridiculous because alot of people use the race card. But in my case, i believe this applies. I was promoted to manager then got demoted without warning and was still doing manager duties. i qut that job, figuring working at a new store (sonic) would change things. but nonetheless things are the same, i wanted to transfer to another store to cut my commute time by 75% yet told i wasn't allowed to transfer. however they just transferred a person who caused peoblems...yet i work hard and everybody depends on me. is there a way i can "force" a transfer or risk not being hired at the new store after quitting the current store i am at?

another note: the owner is the same for all three of the Sonic stores. all the black employees are slowly being fired and more whites are being hired. Also, one of the owners came and made the comment "it's getting dark in here" because majority of the people that were working that day were african-american.

If you have not been given the reasons as to why you were demoted and still given the task of the manager and if you are not given a transfer on grounds of discrimination like race or ethnicity you can certainly file a racial discrimination lawsuit, against the owner of the sonic drive. You need to file a charge of employment discrimination at the EEOC office closest to where you live, or at any one of the EEOC’s 53 field offices.Racial discrimination is a terrible reality and unfortunately it is everywhere. But the first step you should take is to document all instances in writing, noting what happened, who was involved, the dates and times, conversations, and all other relevant information. You can file racial discrimination lawsuit, by mail or in person and by law, you must file within six months or less after this incident took place. You will need to provide your basic contact information and that of the owner of sonic drive against whom you are filing the claim, and the dates and descriptions of the violations. The EEOC will then investigate the claim and determine if there is sufficient evidence that the law has been violated.
