Our business has been using 8x8 VOIP service since July 2009. We have four offices in three states and one office in Mexico. Our initial contact was to reduce the expense of communicating with our Mexican office.
Once we became familiar with their service and the features that were available, we determined that we could streamline communication with our branch offices by switching to 8x8. We also reduced our monthly telephone expense by 50%. An added bonus is the ability to administer the configuration of individual extensions and our ring groups ourselves. No need to contact the local telephone company to request a change, wait two or three days and get charged for the activity. We frequently redirect our branch office customer calls to our main office to support staffing issues.
We also have an assigned technical support person at 8x8. We contact this person for assistance with any issue. A welcome change from a voice response system and a long wait to talk to someone in another state that is not familiar with your account or any recent activity.
Initially we experienced quality issues that frustrated our employees. With 8x8's assistance we made several changes to our network configuration that resulted in significant improvement in call quality. We still experience occasional issues, but we feel that the system flexibility and cost savings more than offset the need to hang up and redial when a poor quality call is experienced.
Our experience with 8x8 employees has always been positive. Other reviewers indicate otherwise, but that has never been our experience. We have always found them to be responsive, prompt to return calls and committed to providing whatever support we were requesting.
If you are contemplating a switch to VOIP telephone service, we think you should consider 8x8. We are confident your experience will be as positive as ours.
