More trouble, less support
We first installed AccuPOS in 2007 to interface with Peachtree accounting software. The setup staff was very quick and professional. I will not say we did not have problems as we used the system, but we found the tech support people very knowledgeable about the details of the inner-workings of their product. They were always able to get us working with mininmum downtime and no loss of data (they always claim data is safe no matter what). In 2011 there was a major upgrade of some sort that we switched to. Some features improved, and some features (mainly in reports) changed enough to be a bit of a headache, but no big red flags. The biggest change over time has been the degradation of their support. The current support staff thinks nothing of telling you they need your system down for extended periods, and if you don't like it, buy the off-hours support. The only thing they seem capable of doing is running the "Compress Database" feature on the management software (I can do that without staying on hold). They then think nothing of telling you that your data is not recoverable. WHAT???? If a software company can't protect the integrity of my data, regardless of interface issues, they are useless to me. We are evaluating other systems.
