I did not end up going with the Active Debt service. I was with a company called Consumer Credit Law for about a year- who went out of business and the I signed with another company two weeks ago- At the time, I spoke to Active Debt about their program and they said they couldnt help me. I asked why the other company said they could and was told that in my situation I was beyond help & the company I had just signed with collected all their fees in the beginning and probably didnt care wether it worked for me- just that they get paid. He refered me to the BBB and I saw they had an F and over 80 complaints. He gave me advice on what to do, how to cancel with the new company and I said I wish I had spoken to him when I first started. I am grateful for his honesty- His name is Shawn. -Dan Barthel
