I used Adept's services on March 2008. I was shifting apartments within a mile from each other.
My opinion is as follows:
1) The moving company is better than the more economical but unsafe adhoc movers from Craig's list.
2) The moving rate of $59/Hr for a Van and 2 men is competitive.
But here is the flip side.
1) The workers were slow and hence a move that could be completed easily in 3 hrs took 5.5 hrs.
2) The workers seems to be overbooked, and hence were many hours late to come. This caused me some pain.
3) Need to make sure that the furniture is handled carefully, if the access area to the apartment is limited and need careful planning to get stuff in.
Also, the movers gave me an option to cover my furniture at extra expense. I declined. This caused considerable dirt on my bed, chair seats, and sofa due to the dirt from their truck and the street. Some of my furniture seemed to be handled in a rough way.
An advice on tipping:
Tip both the persons together. I have a feeling that my tip was not shared.
