Hello my name is Graham Shaw and I am the Corporate Operations Manager for Alan's. I Understand the frustration of being delayed on a firearm redemption but the decision to release a firearm is made by the FBI/NICS. We must by federal law follow any guidelines or decision they make. There are stiff penalties and fines if we do not. Typically a delay is only a few days. If for any reason you are denied you have the right to appeal during which time we will hold your firearms for up to a year. In some cases we've held them even longer. Furthermore we cannot sell an item that is in pawn. The law states we must hold all pawned items for 90 days. We have been in business 25 years and that does not come from being dishonest. Alan's main goal is to provide excellent customer service. I hope in the future this person will choose to speak to me rather than use this public forum to disseminate false information.
