We were denied on MANY occasions from our lender about receiving a modification; every modification request we sent were rejected (this went on for almost a year). We further received a notice that our home was subject to Foreclosure (talk about scary). We searched several law firms, and came across Amerihope. Admittedly, we were a bit cautious and nervous about trusting a firm (or its colleagues) we have never met (we live in NY); we were scammed previously by a firm. The concern even caused some tension between my husband and me, for he wanted to speak with a Bankruptcy attorney, and I did not. I felt like we can get through this, clean if we had the RIGHT representation. We decided to move forward with Amerihope, and was assigned to Ruth Gross.
During our initial call with Ruth, we were immediately put at ease--she answered every question I had, with ease and assurance. She appeared very confident in her ability to help us. I remember her saying at one point, chuckling "don't worry...I know exactly what I am doing...this is going to be fine..."
As the relationship continued, from the very beginning, Ruth responded promptly to ALL of our messages (whether via the portal or over the phone). When she couldn't reach me on one of my numbers, she called me on another number until she reached me. She was diligent following up with the right people at our bank. She kept us in the loop every step of the way. When she sensed my nervousness, she again, put me at ease and assured me it will work out, and she was right. Not only did we receive a trial modification, but we also received a reduction in the original mortgage payment amount.
WE are extremely grateful to RUTH for all of her hard work, professionalism and dedication in helping us retain our home. Ruth is clearly an expert in her craft!
