Arbonne needs to rethink their business practices. You absolutely cannot scam people into signing up to be a “Consultant” which is what they do. In order to just purchase the product you are REQUIRED to give them your social security number. Then you are charged - in addition to the charges for the product - a $29 "sign up fee" that "entitles you to a discount with every order". Before you realize it they have taken you hook, line and sinker. Their excuse is that they need your social security number in case you sell over $500 of the product. What happened to me just buying the face cream from the rep? Where in that does it say I am going to sell $500 of this product? It is a scam.

They train their consultants yet when someone like me makes a stink they blame it all on their consultants and we are supposed to go complain to them. Where is the company backing for these people? Why isn’t this information about the fees made known to customers at the time of purchase? Why isn’t this information made known at the time the Arbonne representative stands up there and touts the praises of the product at a party? None of it is mentioned AT ALL.

Furthermore, it was made very clear that I was not and am in no way interested in joining the Arbonne “family” to sell it, represent it, host a party for it, or otherwise be involved in their company in any way, shape or form. I simply made a purchase to help a friend and am now considered “in business for myself” while they bank my $29. I do not like being played for a fool and I do not like being ripped off.

Arbonne is a very underhanded, dishonest and greedy company that plays on the ignorance of others to make a profit. I would like the BBB to look into their business practices to make sure they are a legitimate and legal company. I know they filed bankruptcy once before (they don’t tell you that at the party either) and people really need to be warned before being sucked into their scam.

I have been e-mailing and complaining this week to their Customer Service Department and the bottom line I was told is that it is the consultant’s fault – not Arbonne’s. Not good business practice in my opinion.
