Review 9/25/2007

We are new parents and just bought our home on February 23,2007. On Saturday September 1(Labor Day weekend) our air conditioning broke down at around 2 pm. The temperature was on record highs above 100. We have a 3 month old infant and were desperate to find someone to fix it. After several calls to air conditioning companies without results I found out that I had to contact my home warranty insurance company. I called Buyers Home Warranty on Sunday on their "emergency" number at 12:30 then again at 3:30 pm. No one call me back. We were desperate to get our A/C back. We bought 2 fans for almost 200 dollars. They were useless, hot air was beeing circulated around. The baby was crying and we had reached our boiling point. We decided to ask for help to our only friends in the area. Since they had company from out of state we had to sleep on the floor. At least we were cool. Finally Monday came. I called again and email them with no results. Finally, I decided to call a technician on my own to fix it. The Technician came I ended up paying over 400 dollars to get our A/C back. After 2 days of sleeping on the floor and God knows how many other inconveniencies and hard times we had our A/C back by Monday 2:30 PM. Buyers Home Warranty finally called at 3:30PM. They apologized. We submitted a letter to the company explaining what had happened and asking for a refund. They decided to refund only 150 dollars. Their excuse was that they did not authorized the repair. If we had waited for their authorization we would probably be still waiting at this moment. I can not explain how disappointed my wife and I were about how this company handle or rather did not handle our situation.
