We purchased our first home in 9/2010 and BPG is the warranty company that was purchased by the seller for us. They have turned out to be a very difficult company to work with. Two weeks into our move in we discovered a leak in the garage, we also discovered the pool heater was not working. The claim for our roof was denied on the basis of "pre-existing condition" and that because we called so soon after our move in the problem must have already been there. I am sorry but isn't that the purpose of a warranty...for older homes. They did send someone out for the pool heater. They came out three times. We recently turned the heat on to check it and it again isn't working. This time they sent out a different company. The man was here for five minutes and said there was an "ignitor" missing and that he would check with BPG and get back to me. I never heard from him again. I called them two days later and they told me that they would investigate with the previous company as to what repairs were done and if any parts were taken. A week went by and I received a letter explaining our claim was denied "due to parts missing". We are currently fighting this one. My last issue is with electrical mishaps. Electrician came out, was here for 15 mins and flipped a few breakers, told me that they were "over loaded" and that it wouldn't be covered because "I don't have adequate equipment". His visit cost me $60 and he left a quote for the work that needs to be done. I could have called a random company and had that done for free. I don't trust this company. It seems that they are out to find any excuse not to help, they don't seem to listen when you offer explanations and they avoid communicating with you by sending you denial letters while you are waiting for a promised phone call. I would not recommend them to anyone. I have spoken to other homeowners using different companies and none of them have had these kind of issues with theirs.
