"Desperate Salesmen"
Our company has placed a few orders from California Contractors Supply in the last few years. The orders were never initiated by us, rather by salesmen calling us on the phone.
Generally, orders have been fulfilled accurately and the quality of the items has been okay. However, on one occasion there was a problem, and we had difficulty returning the incorrect items.
Another issue is the possibility of some credit card fraud being linked to this company. Twice, after placing an order with this company, shortly thereafter credit card fraud appeared on those respective credit card accounts. The salesmen, of course, denied any responsibility, and we have no evidence that would pin the blame on them with certainty. However, we have no other suspects, and it has happened twice.
Last but not least are the repulsive sales tactics. The salesmen will call to offer their "deals," and it is difficult to turn them away in a civil manner. If you say you are not interested, they will likely respond either with a sob story about needing to support their family or by getting angry, or both.
Bottom line: Due to the annoying salesmen and the credit card fraud that may have been associated with them, our perception of this company is quite negative.
