Carrington College is an extremely disorganized and hostile facility starting from administration down. The R.N. program may have been strong at one point but it's anything but now. They are not NLNC accredited although they are applying. I would be very surprised if they pass. The NCLEX pass rate is also extremely low. The director of the nursing program, Dr. G, runs her program through fear and control. She is abusive and shouts at students and staff publicly. They have been through 40 instructors in a couple of years. How is this allowed? She brings in tons of students and overfills the classes so she creates huge profit. I think the accrediting boards would be very interested to know that students have sat through 4 weeks of 8 week clinical rotations doing nothing because she doesn't have instructors. At $45,000 for a two year education you would think it should be excellent. The front office tells great stories about how if you don't like it you can transfer, how they're fully staffed, how they have state of the art equipment. I suppose some of that is true. They do have state of the art equipment we can't use, we can transfer but our credits won't be coming with us, and they are fully staffed every once in a while for about a week. Students and staff are also told that if we complain about the school, or post anything on line that we'll be expelled or fired. It's a really sad and desperate situation. We're future nurses that will be caring for human lives, yet we are belittled, lied to, and inadequately educated.
