Buyer Beware
|
Reposting since many people will be looking for a concrete contractor. Update: still haven’t heard from this contractor and he has not made any attempt to compensate us. I am simply trying to warn our neighbors about this business so others do not experience what we have had to go through. We had our driveway removed and a new concrete driveway installed by EUA of Alaska Concrete. The first winter, the driveway heaved about 4" right at the garage door and damaged the garage door frame as a result of the lifting concrete. We filed a suit with the 3rd District Alaska District Small claims court and the owner did not even show up to the court appointment (Case# 3AN-19-01478SC, 12/5/2019). The judge heard our evidence and testimony from a subject matter expert and found in our favor. EUA of Alaska Concrete has not paid our settlement and has not even contacted us to arrange payment. We are filing for collection but this may take years and we are out nearly $9K and have a messed up driveway as well. We also discovered in the legal process that his business license does NOT allow him to have any employees and is NOT a contractor license. He also was NOT bonded at the time we hired his company although it stated that his company was bonded on his Facebook page and website. I am happy to discuss this in more detail if anyone wants more information.
