I was contacted by a representative of First Class Timeshare, Orlando, FL yesterday. Within a couple of hours of our first conversation, he claimed to have a buyer for my timeshare. His statements seemed highly suspect and in checking them out, here are my findings.
**I was told that the company was one of the oldest, most reputable companies in the timeshare reseller market, yet First Class Timeshare was listed by Dan Guillette (aka Peter D Guillette/Guillete) on Aug 21, 2009. He is involved with various partners in several other ventures (list avail if interested). Could not find a business history on any of these companies - all companies have been registered within the last 3 - 19 months in Orlando Fl. Most of my findings started out from Floridas www.sunbiz.org records.
**I was given a phone number, a toll free number and a website to visit to validate them as a company. An ethical company is not afraid of disclosing a lot more info than the bare bones of this operation and doesn’t use an unpublished phone number, nor do they operate out of a post box agency.
**I was told this company is a bonafied reseller and that a fee of 1450.00 was required to handle all of the documentation required to close the deal. FC Timeshare clearly has this statement on the Refund Policy page “First Class Timeshare is an Advertising company. The property owner pays a one-time, non-refundable advertising fee.”
**I was told that First Class Timeshare provides the loan financing for the buyer. Today’s version was that a bank approves the financing and needs the "packet" - which I have to pay for up front - before the loan can be issued.
If it seems too good to be true, it likely is. I do not recommend any dealings with this company. I do recommend people go to the following website and educate themselves. www.timeshareconsumerguide.org/scams-old.htm.
