I wanted to formally express our satisfaction with Global Resources and specifically Michael S and Jose D. They came up with what they labeled a ‘value enhancement plan’ which I thought at first was just marketing. That couldn’t have been further from the truth as they seemed to focus almost entirely on implementing almost everything that was presented to us in the plan. They instructed us to what a ‘Critical Path Methodology’ was and what it could do for us specifically. Plan, schedule and control projects. I knew right away this was in our wheelhouse as our number one issue for the last decade plus has been project cost overruns on both materials and labor. We had so many projects that we had originally thought were profitable come in a considerable loss once everything was hashed out. By taking the time to completely plan out the entire project and using the above methodology we could save ourselves from dumping additional resources into projects that were losers. We implemented quite a few of their recommendations from the original plan but going into each one would take forever. All I know is that for the first time I can remember we are confident in our ability to track a project’s cost in real time and actually adjust our strategies to stop losses before they damage us further. That alone was worth the price we paid in both money and time.
