Review 2/4/2010
I am so pleased with my Goldfellow transaction and felt I had to share my experience. Needless to say, there are a lot of crooks in this line of business. My personal belief is to rely on the Better Business Bureau to sort it out. So, I selected Goldfellow because I had found the company's website using google to look up "cash for gold". God Almighty, I couldn't believe how many different companies appeared. I must have opened 10 different websites until I selected Goldfellow. I saw they were rated A by bbb. Silly as it sounds, this company impressed me because they showed pictures of their employees. I thought it was refreshing and proceeded to call the number showing on the page. To my surprise a real person answered the call. Are you at the company or one of those operators I asked? Amanda told me she was indeed an employee of the company and had been so for 2 years. Sarcastically, I asked if she was in the company photo and she told me she sure was. Upon discussing the gold I was interested in selling, 6 1 oz krugerand gold coins and several gold bracelets and chains, Amanda suggested I speak to the owner of the company because of the value of the coins. The gentleman I spoke to identified himself as Michael Gusky. He told me he too was in the photo along with his wife. Apparently, my photo question is one the get often. Mr. Gusky explained he would pay $1045 for each krugerand or 95% of the price of gold on the day my package arrived at the company. He said he was unable to estimate the value of the other items until weighed but referred me to the pricing section on the website. He also encouraged me to accept additional insurance because the company covers up to $1000 and my package was well above. So, here's how it went. Tuesday I was emailed a fedex label, that afternoon fedex picked my package up, Wednesday, the next day at 9:30am I received another email of the package arriving at GoldFellow, at around 2:30 the same day, I received yet another email advising me to look on Goldfellow's website to see my amount. $8970!!! I clicked accept and at 4:30 the money was in my Wells Fargo account. They did deduct $10 for the bank wire but that was my choice instead of wating for a check. Oh, and I paid $33 for the extra insurance but my gold was also sent over night to Goldfellow. I feel they paid me fairly for the jewelry and the gold coins. Could I have shopped around? I'm the type of person that looks at the whole offer and I felt extremely comfortable with my decision to trust my gold to Goldfellow. Peace of mind is worth a lot to me. My husband told me the price for the coins alone was higher than anyone in Denver had said they would pay. I hope anyone who reads my review finds it helpful. I for one am happy with my Goldfellow experience.
