Lies to client in order to close a loan
It is sad that a loan agent would lie to a client in order to get them to close a loan. My first contact was on 1/31/21 with Anthony Ricks about securing a refinance on my rental property. Everything was fine until I received my first disclosers on fees. It was not what we had discussed. I had applied for a no point, no cost loan my loan amount should have been about 297,500 based on my balance and I also had told Anthony I would like 2,000 extra cash from my loan amount. Anthony explained that the lender docs that go out are just templates we will go over loan amount before drawing docs. On 4/2/21 docs were drawn and we were supposed to sign that night because the rate would expire and we didn't have time to change the documents. He did not go over the loan amount and loan fees before having the docs drawn. I was sent a copy of the docs and the amounts were not what we discussed and the loan amount was 300,000. With what he was trying to charge I would not get the $2000.00 after closing. So Anthony offered to refund me the .172 loan fee $516.00 and the appraisal fee $695.00. for a total of $1,211.00. Not happy about it but I agreed at least I would the extra $1,211.00 at closing and it would at least be close to the 2,000 cash I wanted back. Closing happened about 4/8/21 and I still have not received my $1,211.00. I called Anthony he said the money was coming from escrow, I called escrow they said the money is coming for the broker I called Anthony and then he confirmed it's coming from the broker. Of course it's has not been sent and it's been almost 3 months since my loan closed. I've called, I've emailed. Anthony will respond sometimes but he's just been putting me off and making excuses and keeps telling me it will be sent. The last 3 emails I CC his broker James Vu so he would know what's going on. James Vu made no attempt to contact me and fix the situation. Still no check, this would be so simple to resolve, send the "credit refund" you promised. I'm also filling a complaint with the DRE, BBB, and any other place I can. No business should operate like this it is completely unethical.
