Contracted with this company to remove old roof and install new roof. The owner said they would be putting down 2 layers of 30lb roofing paper under the new shingles. The first problem happened when during the removal pieces of the old roof fell down vents into the range hood and the bathroom exhaust fan. I had to take the rang hood apart to remove the debri. When I complalined to the owner he said that was "normal" during roof removal. All they had to do was cover the vents, "DUH" Second problem was that just prior to installing the new shingles I noticed there was only one layer of roofing paper. I called the owner who came to look. He said that the 2 layers was actually a 3/4 layover creating two layers??? He did notice the workers werent doing something right with the layover but too late at this point as they were already laying down the new shingles. The contract stated that KST was responsible for removing ALL exterior roofing debri from residence. After they left I noticed many nails and pieces of old roof on the lawn and in the flower beds. I called the owner again. He had his crew return for an hour or so to remove the debri. The next day I again noticed too much debri left on lawn, in flower beds and also debri that was swept from hose roof onto patio roof. In total I myself collected over 750 nails and over 26lbs of roofing debri after their second cleanup. I found small piles of nails behind plants next to the house walls, obviously put there. Also debri from roof was swept under roof eves on top of patio cover in attempt to hide it. When my Sister told the owner of the above problems he became angry and raised his voice to her stating that he did not appreciate being accused of this and stated "THIS JOB IS DONE" and abruptly left. Another problem-- I gave them permission to remove our TV Sat. dishes but did not give permission to reinstall them as that must be done by Direct TV. They installed the dishes in the wrong location and used nails to secure them. Direct TV had to relocate them using lag bolts as required. This left several holes in the new shingles that were filled with roofing tar [looks ugly]. Last problem--Contract stated final bill must be paid within 10 days after job completion. KST mailed out harrasing late notice 6 days after completion. We mailed the full amount the same day. This was a terrible experience for us.
