Review 10/5/2007
Lets just say I've not been defrauded with this diet plan. I was told I could lose more than an average of 1-2 pounds per week which is what in fact I do. I wasn't told I had to keep my calories below 500 and in none of the threads that talk about HOW to do the diet does it state that. The only real requirement stated is that carbs are kept below 20. That's it. There are suggestions for fat and proteins, but most of the threads state to keep calories closer to 800-1000. I was going to do gastric bypass but now since losing weight I wont qualify for that and w/bypass calories are kept at 400-600. I have NOT lost any hair, teeth or other anatomy parts. In the threads it suggests you speak to your Dr. before starting any diet and have him/her monitor what you are doing. My Dr. is ecstatic w/my attitude and weight loss. Yes he has actually looked up the diet plan for himself in order to consult w/me. My blood pressure has lowered as has my cholesterol levels. I had blood work prior to starting this diet and after a couple months on the plan had the blood work repeated. My thyroid is in normal range as are all the other metabolic indexes. I received what I paid for and much more. I paid for a diet plan which I got, and I also got a foods list, a grocery list, a support group, an online chat room to talk to people when I'm struggling and so much more. Everyone wants to complain that kimmer/heidi is a fraud because she weighs over 300 pounds at present. Well Dr. Atkins died of a heart attack and so I would suggest his diet plan wasn't that great either for HIM. I've done the Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, cabbage soup, 3-day diet, etc. On this plan I'm actually losing weight and inches while eating real food that I buy at the grocery store. This plan works for me and I got more than I paid for. I have new friends that I speak to on the phone, and we mail things to one another, and are planning on getting together. No that wasn't promised to me when I signed up for the diet, but it's a direct benefit of it. Yes the first week I did experience some dizziness and a little nausea. Gee when I give up coffee I go through withdraws from that too and have headaches. As I detoxed my body from the sugar it caused the dizziness, that was no surprise I was warned it could happen. When you take the sugar, caffeine and carbs away from your body, it has to detox those things out of its system and it does have some side effects, but again it is only a few days. I love this diet plan, and again do NOT feel defrauded. I got exactly what I paid for and more. I'm losing weight and eating healthy. I eat REAL food prepared by myself purchased from a grocery store. Any diet can and will cause some hair loss, that's why all diets say talk to your DR. I take multi-vitamins and potassium tablets. Also the diet does NOT promote the use of laxatives. It suggests some natural remedies if you ARE experiencing 'potty' problems. No where in the plan does it suggest that this become part of your regular routine. With certain medicines those same problems are caused, and at least now I know how to use some herbs, vitamins and natural remedies to help correct the problem instead of running to the pharmacy for something more caustic and drastic. If you want to diet and need to lose weight, please consult your Dr. prior to ANY diet plan. Continue to consult w/him or her as you lose weight. Hair loss happens with most diets because of the changes in eating. Less fat in the diet can cause constipation. All diets have some sort of side effects, but it's up to us to make sure we do them in a healthy manner. As for me I'm learning how to eat healthy again and what real portion sizes are. I weight out my 4 oz of chicken or fish. I eat turkey bacon instead of regular bacon. Both taste very good, but one is less fat than the other. I make choices so that I can be a healthier me and this diet plan has given me the tools to make those choices.
