CON-WOMAN SUSPECTED.
Erkie Wells & her personal business "Miyohara International" initially SEEMED very friendly & SEEMED genuinely concerned for my well being, which is why I stuck with her & her treatments for half a year. However, there were red flags I decided to overlook because I had thought I had exhausted every other avenue for my hairloss. (Not knowing an endocrinologist & a dermatologist both paid for by my insurance would be my ultimate cure.) RED FLAG #1: She referred to herself as a "doctor" three times in the presence of myself & my family member the first day I went to see her in person. We looked into tricology... No tricologist is legally called a doctor. RED FLAG #2: She calls her business on her various versions of her business cards & on her voice mails "Miyohara International". This is a second false claim. I asked her about it. She has only ONE physical location she is the sole owner of. One business. She claims she has a right to advertise herself as international because she is "willing to accept clients from anywhere." (Is there a business that refuses clients based on where they are from?) This is not an international business with multiple offices worldwide, like the name implies. And her office is actually an APARTMENT painted to look like an office with a desk placed in what would have been the living room. She keeps her doors CONSISTENTLY LOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS,which initially made me wonder if she was hiding her business from the landlord. (An office with a shower in the bathroom is unheard of.) RED FLAG #3: Childish immaturity. When discussing my hairloss, she interrupted me to SCOFF at my symptoms! I was shocked at her ignorance! She insisted my hair-loss was due to sweat. SWEAT. I told her I haven't been sweating. (Which, my endocrinologist later confirmed, is not true. My hairloss was later discovered to be hormone & low thyroid related.) She rolled her eyes mockingly at me in front of her staff! Even pointed at me & laughed on one visit! Not since grade school have I been pointed & laughed at for something I said. Never have I had another adult roll their eyes at me, let alone a "healthcare" "professional". I was so embarrassed. I said nothing. RED FLAG #4: Sloppy & suspicious. I paid for her to send my hair to her "lab" for analysis. That cost over $1,000. The "lab results" were just a cheap computer print out, not even on quality photo paper to see details. All of my hairs were jumbled together in a clump on top of each other sloppily - nothing like a professional doctor would actually do when analyzing! I thought a "lab technician" would space out the hairs one lying next to the other for optimal, careful examination. No way she sent those to an actual lab! I asked for more info. regarding her lab & she kept changing the subject. Mrs. Wells also has a side business of hair analysis for drugs. She had the wrong number on her own business cards she never fixed - it led to her side business of drug analysis. When I left a message asking "Is this Mrs. Wells? Is this you?" She called me back. When I asked about her on her voice mail talking about drug hair analysis, she later told me in person, "Oh, that's my PERSONAL NUMBER." Which it was not. It was her advertising hair drug analysis. RED FLAG #5: Numerous expensive products to buy. The bottles are all reused & many have no labels. She will not reveal what's in her homemade products, calls it her "secret recipe." The bottles w/ actual labels have conflicting directions & are out of order. She emails the correct version to you of how to use these expensive numerous prods. rather than spending her money & making it easier to understand. She also tried to sell me skin products I didn't ask for nor need for hundreds of $ per jar, which was only a few ounces. Then she tried to sell me her other side business as a hairstylist. Her products, used correctly, made my hair-loss WORSE: clumps began falling out & I was in EXCRUCIATING PAIN! I was constantly suffering for 3 WEEKS with intense pain on my scalp calling her in TEARS. She was dismissive & accused ME of being to blame. I then had to go to my doctor for prescription medication to help w/ the pain & inflammation HER products caused my scalp. She cost me over $2,500. Despite all the pain & damage I received no money back - even for an unopened unused $300 small bottle. It was humiliating to beg for a refund I was refused, for damage SHE caused - all she did LOUDLY in front of her staff (though I pulled her aside whispering) rolling her eyes mocking me in a condescending tone! Though I politely sat thru hours of 2Xs a week for months of visits of her bragging & lecturing, in the end she offered me no respect. SUMMATION: She said I had damage due to "SWEATING" when I actually had a hormone imbalance & a low thyroid, blood tests proved! I insisted I wasn't sweating from the beginning & she rolled her eyes & mocked me in front of staff, pushing more & more products... all in Jesus' name. Even laid hands on me & prayed without my permission, which was insulting & highly unethical & inappropriate. But I forgave her & said nothing, thinking it was tolerate Mrs. Wells or go bald as a woman. Now I know its all an act for MONEY. She even brags about her trips taken around the world... nevermind that she knows I am poor. Still bragging. Its been 1 yr. & I'm finally beginning to heal from the damage she did to my scalp. Never trust a fast talker. Never trust a braggart. She suddenly stopped answering my phone calls/emails when I kept asking her what to do about the pain! She just flat out ignored my messages! Had to rely on a real doctor to give me actual help, which my insurance paid for... with no side effects. I was a polite sucker & she sucked my bank account dry! She's nice & friendly for the first few months. I have never met such a domineering woman in all my life. I told my endocrinologist all of this & she said she is seeing another former client of Miyohara!!! Same lie "sweating" when it was really a hormone imbalance! Every time I left her "office" (its an apartment!) I left crying from the stress of her domineering personality. Which is the last thing someone with multiple illnesses & hair-loss needs... more stress & hours of being talked down to per session! Honestly, who brags for three straight hours without embarrassment!?! Save your money! See an endocrinologist & a dermatologist - ask for the shampoo with spironolactone in it!
