Mrs. Sutherland

I was hoping to share my views and experiences with you in person. I can only imagine your busy schedule.

I wanted to commend following individuals....

Morgan at the front desk. A phone hanging out her ear.... Juggling paper work, taking a message, and reviewing a student's class schedule all at the same time, she is the first one to greet me and make sure that I hear her say good morning. What a great delight she is. With the sometimes circus like environment I see her immersed in, I must say that her great character, enthusiastic and cheerful personality only give testament to her professionalism. Job well done Morgan! Please give her a big thanks for me.

Mrs. Barbara Andrews - it is no secret at all how difficult, and extreme the material she teaches in her courses can be for an experienced professional, let alone a newbie. I had the opportunity to take a course with Mrs. Andrews a few weeks ago. I applaud Mrs. Andrews for her ability to stay on track while keeping the students motivated, and the class enjoyable. It goes without saying, that to make any class worth while, one must put everything they can into it. You only get out of something, that which you put into it. With that in mind, I made sure I was well armed before my first day of class, by using the mentored learning lab in addition to doing hours of home study and research. Mrs. Andrews is extremely knowledge about the subjects she teaches. She understands that there are a number of different approaches to do the same thing, especially in SQL. She did her best to be open to the student's questions and to help them understand what, and more importantly why... They were using certain commands over others. She offered the students who wished time to do additional labs when time permitted. Some took advantage of her availability, others did not. You could easily tell those who were there to learn, and those who were just going through the motions. The course is very difficult. How in the world some people could think they could go into that class without a lick of preparation, is beyond me. I hope the comments made about the course and Mrs. Andrews truly reflect, and take into consideration the amount of material covered, the time allotted, and the class size. She truly did a fantastic job. To those who take their education seriously... To those who know that "Tomorrow" starts the night before... To those who are here to make a difference, I know they would echo my statements. Mrs. Andrews is an excellent instructor. In the hallway, she takes time to stop and ask how I am doing. She is always there with advice and assistance, and understanding when I confront her with an "uncooperative command", and a "senseless syntax error". Please please give her a great pat on the back from a very appreciative student. Add her to the growing list of great instructors at NH.

On that note.... What a great day today was. Getting here at the crack of dawn most days and then watching the crowds thin out throughout the day.... I can see those who are really serious about their educations. I would like to thank Bill, Dan, and David for their help. Nick as well. Dan sat with me and helped me work out a "headache" I was having for days. YEAH! It clicked. Thanks Dan. Bill and David, and Nick. What can I say. I don't even know the question I am asking most of the time, yet they all seem to have this gift for understanding. They have been an excellent source of reference and learning. New Horizon's greatest asset is their people.

I have lived in a suit and tie all my life. How refreshing it is, for me to be able to come into a relaxed atmosphere in a basic t and shorts or whatever. Relaxed, physically, and mentally, ready to learn. They are so helpful. Never once have they seen me in my usual amour of suit, tie, and briefcase. There is still the greatest amount of respect and courtesy.

I thank them, and I thank you.
Please give them my regards.
Respectfully,
Eli A
