On July 24, 2019, I took my service dog in for a routine cataract surgery. I paid over $3000 to have the surgery. My dog, Beau, was in great shape and health. She was running around and very playful. After the surgery I received a call that she had a little complication with her heart so they were going to retain her for the night to continue monitoring. I was up all night and called several times to check on her. I picked her up on the morning of 7/25/19. I didn’t leave her side. I made several calls over the next 36 hours because she didn’t seem to be doing well, plus a follow up visit on 7/26/19. Beau died a traumatic death, in my arms, late on the afternoon of 7/26/19. Despite the amount of money I had already rendered and the multiple calls to confirm the behaviors and symptoms were not of concern, BluePearl continues to demand more money. The money I paid upfront was suppose to cover follow up visits, but since they murdered my dog by neglecting the behaviors and symptoms, she didn’t use any of those follow up visits. Now, I have a collection agency calling to collect an additional $650. The torture of watching her choke and bleed out in my arms should be enough for the clinic to write that small amount off as a loss and get it back in taxes. The coughing, foaming, and bleeding took a matter of seconds to take her life. The pain of her loss still haunts me today, almost a year later. I’ve never been so heartbroken in my life and the audacity of these heartless veterinarians to continue the torment by calling me to collect. Every time I see the their name or drive past the building, I’m re-traumatized. If your pet has medical needs, find a clinic that cares; find a clinic that won’t forsake your concerns when you call multiple times. If you want to keep your dog alive, don’t use BluePearl! They will murder your pet and then charge you more after the traumatic death!
