I thought it was great, little did I know that I spent $3600 on a broken machine.
This was not a recent purchase, but OriginPC still loads on my internet explorer every time I start it and I saw them talking about their great reviews, so I thought I would tell my story as it puts a sour taste in my mouth every time I see their page, and talking about their great reviews made me want to leave one. Purchased PC as a college graduation present to myself, around end of Dec 2014, got it mid-late January. 2 GTX 970's and an SSD + some other good stuff, cost around $3600. I had never had a nice PC before. It ran great. I was able to play all the games. I checked the device manager, GTX 970 was there. Only listed 1, but assumed that 2 videos cards connected run together as 1, so I didn't think anything of it when I saw 1 listed, I mean, its Origin and they are high priced, but top quality, right? It was a little over a year later, I was watching some random youtube video, the guy went into his device manager. He had 2 GTX 970's, but where his video card was listed, it said GTX 970 (2). At that moment I realized something was wrong. Friend helped me take the video cards out, test em both individually in each slot. Both video cards worked in slot 1, neither in slot 2. I called customer support hoping they could help me, but being past the free warranty, they told me I was out of luck. So $3600 for a video card I could never use, and a motherboard with a broken video card slot on it. The customer service guy tried to suggest, "How would I know if it was broken in the beginning or not if I am just noticing it a year later?" Exactly, how would I know? I was an uneducated consumer buying a supposedly high priced, high quality computer. He was suggesting that it could have broke somewhere along the way. It had not moved since I received it. So it was either damaged in shipping, which I don't know how just the video card slot would be damaged in shipping, or someone didn't do their job with the QA. I know this is late, but i never left a review, and I am still sour about spending almost $4000 on a broken computer, with a video card still to this day has not been used. Yes I checked the BIOS. Yes I tested all 3 video card slots. I even tried hooking the 1st and 3rd slots up because 1 customer service guy at their store told me it would work, and another one later told me that was not possible.. Ordered an extra long SLI connector to do it. Turns out the 3rd video card slot doesn't work like the first 2. Asus z97 deluxe I think was the brand. Like I said, I know this is a real late review, but I have spent less on cars for myself. $3600. Every time my internet explorer loads up, i get to be reminded of this. If this was a GTX 970 review, it would get 5 stars, because 1 of them ran so well I assumed it was 2 video cards. But like I said, I have never owned a nice computer, and this was supposed to be it. Could that be way my computer has been overheating since the beginning? Never to the point it breaks, but to this day, I often hear that internal cpu, Beep Beeeeeep, then fans kick into overdrive. Anyways, yeah, lengthy review, but apparently paying top price for a PC does not always get you top quality.

We thank you sir for sharing your experience with us. ORIGIN PC works very hard with all our customers to give the most positive experience possible and we regret that this has not been your case. As you stated in your post, you received your system in January 2015 with your warranty expiring in January 2016. You reported the issue with your system in June 2016 which was unfortunately past the part warranty date. As an ORIGIN PC customer, you are entitled to lifetime technical support and labor if you decide to send your system for repair. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any more questions or concerns. We will be more than happy to help as best we can.
