The Phone Store USA (a.k.a. cellularstoreusa1) sold me a phone on Ebay which they claimed was new when in fact Verizon showed me records that proved it was used. They tried to package and disguise the phone as a new, never opened phone. Not only was the phone used but the battery was old or used as well. It had a rather large bulge on it which Verizon also pointed out. It actually made the battery cover difficult to get on. Scanning through the Ebay feedback, it looks as though this is not uncommon for their store. There have been many complaints with similar experiences.
Even though they were caught lying, they still requested that I give them excellent feedback. In other words, lie again to future potential Ebay buyers. I gave them a poor score and I did not cancel the transaction because I want future Ebayers to see their true side.
If they are doing this to me and others then what else are they doing? What other scams are they pulling and getting away with??? Their overall positive feedback rating is very misleading. It includes people who have given in to their requests to give them excellent feedback even though they just got screwed. Those buyers were probably afraid they would receive negative feedback from Phone Store USA if they went against their request. It is sort of like their subtle threat in the small print of their ad, "if negative feedback is left before we’ve been given a chance to resolve any issues, the sale will be considered final".
Do not buy from this store. You like many others may be very disappointed. Even though they offer a return guarantee, in most cases (possibly all) it is only for an exchange NOT for a full refund, "Refund will be given as Exchange". Also, the small print states, "Shipping charges cover shipping, handling, and packaging costs. They are a flat rate and are non-negotiable, non-reimbursable, and non-refundable." and as far as the return shipping charges, "BUYERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR RETURN SHIPPING COSTS AND ANY SHIPPING/HANDELING ORIGINALLY CHARGED TO CUSTOMER IS NON REFUNDABLE". Therefore, if you get shipped a bad phone you may get stuck with the initial shipping, the return shipping and the shipping for the exchanged phone.
Think hard before you buy from them or roll the dice. They are the kind of seller that gives Ebay a bad name. There are many very reputable sellers on Ebay to buy from. This is not one of them.
