Although I think the owner means well, buyer beware. Do your homework when spending top dollar for a "quality" dog. We got a puppy from Seifert Labradors in March 2010. We found out she was from an unintentionally bred litter. The female had been retired for 2 years. The female had what the breeder referred to as a "silent heat". When the breeder woke one morning she found one of her males in a "tie" to this female. She had 2 live puppies. We got one of the 2, which we paid full price for. We were never informed of this breeding issue until after we started having problems with our puppy at about 10 months. It turned out she has bilateral (both) elbow dysplasia. After we notified the Seifert owner, it was a very long painful process to get our 50% refund fee (4+ months). This despite having 2 board certified vets making the diagnosis. We were questioned about injuries, and food changes and the validity of the diagnosis. Never once after our poor dog had over $6k of invasive surgery did the owner of Seifert ask how our dog was doing. I feel it's important that people know this and really read the breeders warranty. My family has suffered greatly watching our poor dog go through this horrible experience.

Business's response - on 4/12/2012
I was contacted in early Feb. 2011 by the Magana family stating that their dog had been having limping issues for the last several months. I replied to their email addressing their concerns, and referred them to their Vet for treatment. The next emailed I received from them was with a diagnosis from their Vet and a referral to a specialist. I was contacted via email once again with a surgery date(early April 2011), and a prognosis from their specialist according to them. At that time I asked for the X-ray films, and the written diagnosis from their Vet and Specialists. I also reminded them to submit the x-rays films to the OFA for ratings...I received the x-rays and prognosis letters weeks later. I also referred them back to our puppy packet to review our written guarantees - as it provided a step by step process to follow for our guarantees to valid. The next communication from them was to inform me that their dog had surgery, and they wanted their refund ASAP. By then I had received their Vet and Specialists prognosis, and x-ray films. After review by my Vet, Orthopedic Specialists, and OFA I learned that their dog had mild elbow dysplasia in one elbow not both (their dog had surgery on both elbows). At the time we had only 1 stud dog onsite, and they were provided the certifications of both parents of this litter in their puppy packet. Unfortunately even with certified breed stock health issues like this can happen. Concerned I emailed and called them several times hoping to talk with them about their dog's current health. Once I was finally able to make contact they said that they would not complete the steps that were outlined to expedite our guarantees refund. At that time I offered them another puppy from our next litter, they declined. So I then offered that they return their dog...with no reply. After sending many emails and leaving phone messages wanting to know about their dog's current health...I gave up! Needing to know the reason why this dog develope
