Review 4/1/2010
I woke up this morning and checked my bank account like I do every morning, and I noticed a charge for $69.99 from Norton Antivirus (which is a division of Symantec). Attached to the charge was a phone number which I dialed promptly. The phone was answered by an automated voice saying that if we were calling about a charge that we received on our bank statement, that it was just an annual update done for our convenience. The problem I had with it was... I have not been a customer of theirs in over two years. I was shocked. I opted to speak to a representative, and I was on hold for over 15 minutes before reaching a live human being. Keep in mind, that I did all of this at 6:45 a.m.

When he asked what my problem was, I explained that I had been charged for a service that I had not used in several years, and that I was upset because I found a $70.00 charge on my account with NO warning. He asked me for my e-mail address and I gave him the one that I have been using for the last two years, and he said he had no record of anyone having an account with that e-mail. Finally he asked me for my full name, which I gave, and he said my account was listed under an e-mail I haven't used in over two years.

I told him to reverse the charges... Which after 5 more minutes on hold he told me he did... And that I would be receiving an e-mail immediately confirming my refund. It's been all day and I still haven't received the e-mail. He said the credit would be reflected in my account after two to three days... so I will have to wait and see.

They are still haunting me years after I decided to not use them anymore... and that is a little too weird for me. Don't use this company ever. It's awful... all of the complaints I've read about on here, have echoed my own experiences... which is why I decided not to use them. Just so you know, there are plenty of free virus protection companies on the web that work better than Norton. I have not yet had one issue or virus with the company I am currently using. Do your research, and find something better. It IS out there.
