It is a huge relief to find a remodeling contractor who is extremely professional, reliable and have all the necessary insurance policies. There are a lot of horror stories about contractors who sign a contract, take deposit and disappear. We moved here from Montreal Canada about six months ago, my wife native language is French and I was afraid that she will have communication issues since she was home every day. This project looked scary. We purchased our home here in Calabasas from the bank. The house needed a lot of work but the price was right and I wanted my kids to go to the Las Virgins’ school district. My neighbor saw us when we walked the house with the Realtor and said “don’t worry about the remodeling, I will send you my nephew, he is in the remodeling business, give him a chance” I figured he wants his nephew to make some money but to be polite I took the phone num and called. I found out he is a project manager (there is a title in L.A for every profession) with a company called TLC home improvement. He came on time, gave us a very impressive presentation and also quoted us a price, of course he wanted us to sign the contract but my wife insisted on having few more estimates. He left on a good note and just asked us to do our homework. He said’ I want you to do your research because then you will call me”. We did have five more estimates, but we decided to use his services, they were about 12% expensive than the rest, but what an excellent work they did on my home. Whatever he promised he did. He was here daily at 7.00 am with the crew, they made sure everything was cover, all the employees were polite, and really hard working guys. I didn’t know that I can ask for portable toilet, so the first few days were kind of uncomfortable, but then my neighbor (thanks Gary) told us to ask for it. We called customer service at 5.45 pm and the next day here it was at 9.30 am. Abe is a perfectionist, and he made sure everything went smooth. Few changes were requested by my wife after they completed the work, nothing major, it wasn’t in the contract but they agreed to do it with a minimal charge. Thank you for making my first home purchase and remodeling in America a positive experience.
