Review 2/19/2009
This pet clinic is awful. Please do not go there. They have a very bad attitude with people. This is maybe why they do not have too many clients. Last year I bring my cat, Adonis because he had infected teeth and was in a very bad shape. Dr. Grasmehr was giving me a small discount because I bring them several cats and because I am an animal rescuer and lover. At that time I had lost my job so I was asking if I could pay the bill over time; it was around $500 because he required teeth extractions. So Dr. Grasmehr says yes and Cheri who was the front desk receptionist helped me with this. We have always been in good relations and I have always honored my bills with them. But last year I began to have a problem. They told me they cannot give me any discounts anymore because their business manager was very mad about this. It seems that their business manager prejudice against people from France. I was in shock because they appeared to be offering favoritism to other clients over me. I begin to be suspicious. I concluded he was money hungry and absolutely not an animal lover and I heard that from Dr. Grasmehr herself. So I send a fax to tell them noting that I felt this was unfair and that I do not like to be treated that way. After that, I sent another fax apologizing, and telling them that Dr. Grasmehr is still a good vet. One year passes and 3 weeks ago my cat Adonis again become very ill and still seems to have mouth and teeth infection, so I called the vet and made an appointment for Wednesday, 07.Jan.2009, at 9:00am. I have always good relations with both Cheri and Dr. Grasmehr. Then, Tuesday afternoon, the day before the appointment, I received a phone call from Cheri the receptionist to tell me that the business manager just told her that he did not want me there anymore and he does not want me as a client. I asked Cheri what is the name of their business manager and which right he has to tell me to not be a client there when I have no business with him, my vet is Dr. Grasmehr. She refused to give me the name of the business manager, so I told her I will find it one way or another and that is unfair to treat me like this. And she hung up the phone on me. She was very rude and aggressive. Now that the business manager does not want me there, she became very bad. This is how she treat clients. I never meet this business manager; he does not know me. I only know that he does not like animals and seems to be doing this only for the money. He does not seem to be a nice person either. This is all I know and that is coming from Dr. Grasmehr herself too and different clients. My neighbors does not like them either. I find on internet several complaints from past clients. By the way I have been somewhere else to microchip my cats because the VCA was giving discount for Microchip and Tarzana Pet Clinic was more expensive. So I have my cats microchip somewhere else and the business manager was not happy with this. But I do not owe them anything. I do what I want. I am in shock that they really do not care about people and their pets. This business manager needs to be removed from his position. They are losing a lot customers because of their attitude. When a customer says something they do not want to hear they kick him/her out. It shows a big insecure attitude. People did not complaint for nothing, I do not complaint for nothing. Their staff are awful principally this business manager. They always try to make the customers guilty for their mistakes. I talk to one of my neighbors briefly and he told me that he did not like them either because himself like me is an animal rescuer and Tarzana Pet Clinic does not like rescuers. Please do not go there. They are awful and disrespectful to people and their pets. I was going there because they were cross street from me. So it was easy. But now I am going somewhere else and they are so wonderful with people and their pets. This is a big difference. I cannot write any positive because there is no positive with this Veterinarian pet clinic. If it was me the rating will be zero zero zero, but it seems that the minimum rating has to be 1 star for us to have our review posts. My rating is a very big 0 anyway. Below are few complaints and review I find on internet. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scottie By Richard B. I can honestly say that I believe Dr. Grashmehr is a good vet, however her office staff are rude and insensitive. Maybe this is why her office appears empty at the times she treated my Scottie Terrier. I found her ofice staff phoney ad unconcerned about my pets wellbeing. I brought my second Scottie to her for an appointment on her day off. I had a scheduled appointment and took time off work. After waiting over forty minutes I asked the office manager, "Robyn" to find out how much longer I would have to wait. All I was told was that the Dr. was running behind. I finally had to leave. I called the office to rescedule that day but was denied an appointment. I was informed that maybe I was not a good fir for Dr. Grashmehr by the office manager. Do these people forget that I am the customer and I did have an appointment. Maybe this is why she does not have a busy practice. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Front office staff By barrie m. There must have been a recent change in the front office staff. They are very rude over the phone and I have moved and see no point in taking my dogs to Tarzana if the staff is going to be unhelpful and rude over the telephone. Dr. Grashmehr was great with my senior dog up until the very end. The phone staff is less than helpful, we adopted a new dog (rescue) and I contacted the office because, it had attacked and hospitalized my husband, well I got "look up petfinder.com" of course, that was worthless. I called today to find out if they could recommend any pet sitters for my family dog (not the one who attacked my husband and daughter - he is living with a pet trainer). I was told that they could not recommend anyone. The Vets are great if you can get past the staff on the telephone! My patience is running low.
