I recently purchased an item from Tiger Direct for which their was a coupon code. Upon placing the order and paying for it using Pay Pal with an instant withdrawal from my bank, I noticed that I had not been credited with the $20 value of the coupon code. I called Tiger Direct and was told that I would have to wait at least 48 hours in order to rectify the situation. I was finally able to get the situation solved but not to my full satisfaction; Tiger Direct would only give me an in-store credit and would not credit my PayPal account. They can quickly take your money but not so good about giving back even after one of their employees admitted that the coupon problem was probably not my fault. Several days later I needed to by a particular electronics part and decided the best way to get my $20 was to use my Tiger Direct credit on my purchase. I was told that I would have to phone in my order in order to use my credit which I did, using a credit card (no PayPal instant withdrawal this time!) To follow up on the purchase I checked my account online only to discover that my order was incomplete because Tiger Direct could not get my credit card approved. I checked with the credit card company and they said they hadn't even heard from Tiger Direct to begin with. In the mean time the item I ordered went up in price on my invoice (I have the email to verify this) and became back-ordered even though the item description on the web site says it will ship in 24 hours. My $20 credit is included in the final, higher price on the invoice but, hey, it was my money in the first place! I have now been told I can cancel the order or simply wait for the third party supplier to get more of the items in. My invoice indicates that I am waiting for Tiger Direct to do a "physical inventory." I stopped buying from Tiger Direct several years ago but Consumer Reports recently gave them a decent review. Now, it seems, they are back to their old ways. I am very frustrated and cannot believe the run-a-round I'm getting!
