Review 6/16/2010

I have to add a review here because I was very surprised to get an advertisement from this firm in the mail which, in the manner in which it's packaged and presents itself, makes it seem like something other than a solicitation.
As a new homeowner, they sent me a letter which included my grant deed (where did they get a copy of this?), followed by a form to be filled in and highlighted in yellow, "return this form and a check for 47.95 made payable to the document source" and then finally followed by a letter in rather small print that finally describes what they're trying to sell. The fact is they're selling something that you may or may not wish to get (and personally I think is a waste of money) but it's presented in a way that you may assume it's something you need to complete and pay. At least that was my first assumption until I read the letter a couple times over.
It's one thing to try to offer a service or product to a potential customer. It's quite another to present it in a way that comes off as misleading or confusing and does not properly represent that it is nothing more than a solicitation.
