RIP OFF WARNING---Total Fiberglass and Gelcoat Restoration
On May 15th, 2009, Mr. Diaz promised a 2 day repair to body damage on our RV. We gave him a check for $500.00 to begin the work that day. In bargaining for the price of the repair, Mr. Diaz stated that he didn't own the company, and could not offer us
a better price than $700.00 for the repair. He slapped some filler on the damaged area, and returned later the next day to sand the area. There are voids in the filler, and he sanded off a much larger area than the original damaged area. Mr. Diaz retuned the
Saturday before Memorial Day, and asked for the balance due so he could buy paint for the repair. On Memorial Day Monday, he returned again with the $200.00 check and asked for cash to buy the paint, as he could not cash the check over the Holiday weekend.
We gave him the cash, he put a little more filler on the area, and left. I informed Mr. Diaz that we would be out of town from May 28th until June 4th, but the RV would be available to him to work on, but we would be moving the RV to Jacksonville on June 8th.
As of June 8th, the work had not been completed. 5 June, 2009, I was able to leave a message for Mr. Diaz at his residence. Shortly thereafter, I got a call from Mr. Diaz, he apologized that he had to go 'Up North' for work, and as a result couldn't finish
our job. He promised to call in a week and a half when he got back into the area, so far he hasn't. On June 5th, he also promised to drive to Jacksonville to finish the job. This doesn't make sense to me, as it would take at least 2 round trips from Daytona
to Jacksonville, fuel and travel time would cost him more than the disputed amount. In checking on Mr. Diaz, I have found at least 2 people who have a less than favorable opinion of Mr. Diaz and his business reputation. We believe Mr. Diaz owes us at least
a full refund of the $700.00 we have paid him for this repair, as another company from the Jacksonville area has to be contracted to finish the job, more than likely at a much higher expense to us. As a professional Yacht Captain, I am very familiar with fiberglass
repair, and I firmly believe that a repair of this nature should not have taken more than 3-4 days at the most. Do NOT EVEN CONSIDER using this company. He will rip you off, like he did me and others in the Daytona Beach, Fla. and Silver Springs, Maryland,
where he spends the summer stealing from people. I am giving one star because there is not a no star option.
