Review 10/31/2011
Can you give a zero rating. I got a cold call from these jerks the other day. Dan, the salesman, said that they had some guys working in the neighborhood and wanted to know if I needed any work done. Luck had it, we did. An appointment was set up and Sean came by (according to these reviews, he sure gets around). Sean looked at the project and started to go through all the psuedo-legal schpeil—all the licenses and so forth. He then said he was going to make a call, see what materials they may have "laying around the warehouse" and if they did, he wouldn't charge me for them. Right (long pause). What's up with that? Do they think I'm that stupid? "Free" construction materials. GTFO. So I explained to this guy, supposedly named Sean (they may all be named Sean to protect the innocent), that we weren't going to make a decision right away, that we would be getting other bids and if their bid was fair, we would be asking for references, and then decide. He said okay, gave us some contact info, and then left. A half-hour later my wife gets a call from some man speaking in broken english that we lied to them, that I had said that I was single and not married. What the hell? I did recall that the second salesman who had called to verify the appointment had gone down a list like "Let me get this information correct:" Name, address, city, cross street, single or single-something and so forth. Truthfully, I did think he may have said single at the time but I couldn't have heard him correctly. Why would he ask if I was single? I guess he meant single-family resident or single story. So this first man to call and badger my wife was quite belligerent to me as well and saying that I lied to them. When I asked what difference it made, he wouldn't answer. He then said that I wasted the guy's time and that he had to drive 20 miles for the appointment. I said that I'm not going to feel guilty because I asked for a bid and then things got more heated and he hung up. I called the number back, talked to the second salesman and asked what the hell did it matter if I was single or not? He said, "I asked if there was a Mrs. John F. and you said no." Okay, now I know they were lying. They were not that specific. If they were, I would have asked why right then and there and would not have wasted their time and especially mine. These guys are jerks. Lesson learned. I've let cold calls in my house before but never again. And I agree with another reviewer, the 5-stars on this site seem to be obviously written by the same two people.
