Paid $20 for a criminal background check on myself which resulted in an empty report. Website claims to have criminal records from Illinois. I know there should have been records available because I have a long rap sheet. Then, during the checkout process, several add-on services were added such as Identity protection. I was automatically enrolled in a monthly subscription service. Eventually, I had to cancel my credit card because there was no way to cancel. Buyer Beware. Stay away from USSearch. It's a scam.

When I searched a phone number it said "Report Available." Only after paying did they inform me that in fact there was no report available and that it would take 1-2 days to get results. The results came back completely empty. Very misleadinging.

US Search wants to charge citizens an annual fee to "lock" their personal public and non public information from being viewed or sold on their website. This is extortion. Citizens should have the right to keep these bottom feeders from displaying and selling your personal information. I also pity any poor sucker that dared purchase a report from them. Just google "USSEARCH.COM" and "fraud" and you will see hundreds complaints against this company for unauthorized charges and fees by unsuspecting customers that dared use their service. US Search should follow many other companies in the internet people finder category by allowing individuals to supress, delete and block the use of personal information from being viewed and sold on the internet. You can protect your privacy. US Search does not respect citizens privacy by extorting money to supress our private information.

Buyer Beware!!! Nothing short of theives!! In February 2009 I contacted US Search for a phone number serach. It still shows "In Progress" as of October 15, 2009. As promised I was not charged the $4.95 as I did not recieve the results. Instead they waited until April 2009 to charge my same credit card $99.95 for a background search on myself, which I never asked them for. I have called them several times and been given the run around and completly rude responses. I was assured they could pinpoint the IP address of the computer used to make the request and I requestd they do so to show they are not in the wrong and I could proceed against the real culprit. They refused to provide me that information. Obviously they have my card information on file for the initial attempt I made with US Search, so they were able to provide documentation to my credit card company showing my proper information. They however can not account for my being in Tennessee and claiming the charges were made from Washington. Do you search with another company. The BBB "A" rating is much too high.

I noticed my husband and I's information was published, due to our jobs, we have been unlisted/unpublished for 15-20 years. I contacted them to remove us and all they did was run us around. Then I noticed their advertisement "US Search is the leading provider of People Search & Background Checks US Search is the leading People Search destination. Since 1994, US Search has helped millions of people reconnect with friends, family, classmates, colleagues – anyone. US Search accesses billions of records to provide quick and accurate People Search Results." Couldn't be more false! I am listed as a relative in the same household as my husband's exwife of 7 years AND my former cities of residents are VERY incorrect! They obviously do not update nor verify records, I put them on the spot to validate the information they posted and tell me where from so I could correct it at the source, all they did was stutter. The sad thing is I can validate my claims as I have court records and other proof of public information records to discredit what they have and willing to show them yet they refuse to provide me the same courtesy.

I don't see how this company ever deserved an A rating! They are so bogus! I requested a search on a phone number that was constantly showing up on my sons phone from another town. Company "guaranteed" delivery within 48 hours. A WEEK later, I did receive a report that said "Non-Working Number". However, just yesterday, 4 calls was received from that number! Of course, I was charged the $4.95 fee. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone......look elsewhere if you want a true report!!

I would not recommend this company to ANYONE. I purchased a basic search that provided the same result as the free search. I called to get a refund and the lady that had answered my call was horrible and extremely rude. I had to keep calling to speak to someone that could help me. This is a rip-off if I ever saw one. All they had to do was to take a look at the search results that were provided to me and see that it was the same information and that there was not a persons name nor street address. The last person I talked to did refund the cost of the search, but I would NEVER do business with them again.

The US Search report that I paid for was incorrect in the following ways: 1. It was Buckeye, AZ Municipal Court, NOT a criminal court as the report stated. 2. There was not a conviction as the report indicates, rather the case was dismissed. 3. The case was a civil case for speeding, not as the report indicates, a criminal case .
I believe that US Search reports to be designed to insure that those paying for them will buy further reports and that the reports do so by providing inaccurate or misleading information. I further believe that US Search's refusal to identify the court where the incorrect information supposedly came from without my paying for additional reports coupled with the misinformation contained in the report provides prima facia evidence of attempt to defraud.

I would highly reccomend USSearch.com as an excellent people search website. I had called them after seeing the Triple A rating on the BBB website. The customer service was excellent and Anthony, the gentleman I spoke with, was very informative. He looked up the person I was looking for before we were even charged so we could be sure there was information on them. It saved me from paying for nothing. I found the info I needed and paid for the expert service and am getting the info within an hour. I would make this company a six star rating if it were possible.
