Searching a moving company was one of the hardest and most stressful things I have ever done in my life. The company I am employed would paid for my entire relocation including packing boxes and the actual loading and unloading, in other words every aspect of my move was paid for to a certain extent, I just had to do the easy part, finding the movers; which actually turned out to be the hardest part!! I was moving out of a two bedroom condo with 2 fully furnished bedrooms, a living room, dining room, and bathroom. All of my items had to be packed, kitchen, bathrooms, clothes etc. I searched and searched and finally found a few companies which were in my price range, I even found companies with very cheap prices, but those companies turned out to have an F on the BBB. The Movers Group gave me an affordable price; they had an A- on the BBB; and their customer service was great! I decided to go with their quote and now I know I made the best choice. I usually am neither a review writer nor have I ever written a review about another product or service but when the manager asked me to post my experience I decided that it was better late than never. It has been two weeks since I moved in and received my furniture. The movers came on time on the day of the move, explained every single detail to me regarding my move, and packed mirrors, tv’s, beds, etc everything with extra care! And finally said they will try to deliver my belongings as soon as possible and that I will receive a call from the driver. Even thought I had to pay $200.00 extra, I’m glad I had everything packed. 6 days after my pick up, I received the call from the driver and got my belongings delivered the next day. I am a very pleased customer, my furniture looks great, no damages on my old house nor on my new one. Plus, their movers were very professional. Thank You Movers Group!

I would never recommend this company to anyone I know. I decided to go with this company for my move and put down a deposit with them. After reading some of the reviews on the BBB website and consulting with another moving company I decided that I felt more comfortable with the other company. I called this company to cancel and the manager rudely asked me why I was cancelling, which I replied I felt more comfortable with another company. She did not like my answer and when I was firm that I wanted my deposit returned she hung up on me. I then had to call back at which time they put me on hold for 5 minutes then the manager came back and again in a rude tone tried to "convince" me to stay with their company. Again, I refused stating that I felt more comfortable with another company. She asked me if it was because of price but I told her no that the other company would cost more I just felt more comfortable. Again she was rude and told me that the hold on my credit card couldn't be removed until their bookkeeper (who is only parttime) came in on Tuesday. I immediately called my bank to see if I could stop this, but my bank explained that it was only a hold and that it would drop off on Monday. Instead the company went ahead and charged my card instead of removing the hold. I now have to go through my bank to dispute the charge. This company is very unprofessional. I think it was pretty rude to hang up on someone, then when the customer calls back they try to convince you to stay. Why would someone want to even stay with the company after being hung up on. Completely unprofessional, I will never, ever recommend this company to anyone.
Follow-up: I had to go through my bank to dispute the deposit charges on my credit card since they never refunded me the money in the time that they said they would. In addition to my dispute with my bank I also contacted the Better Business Bureau and put in a complaint with them. Please do not use this company.

The Movers Group was a wonderful company in which I would highly recommend to people. The movers were gentlemen. They were very efficient in their job and finish the pick up very fast. They took apart all my furniture, wrapped it so carefully and when we arrived to our new location they put everything back together again. The best part of all of this was the price was perfect and never changed. Thank you The Movers Group for moving our family and leaving us with a smile!

They are very dishonest people and even though they gave me the cheapest quote, it ended up costing me more in the end due to damages done to my home. Their guys put a huge hole in my wall while moving some furniture, they then tried to hide the damage to the wall behind a head board so I wouldn't see what they had done. ...I was informed in no uncertain terms when I called there offices and I quote.... "I am really sorry but there is no proof that our guys were the one's that put the hole there, so there is nothing that we can do about it.".....I paid over $200 dollars to have the hole repaired and I have pictures of the damages... This has been my first time dealing with a moving company, and I have to say that it has been one of my most horrible experiences. The quote I was given included furniture disassembling and wrapping, but when they arrived I was told that it was extra to wrap furniture which was not what I was told over the phone, they dragged and pulled my furniture across the floor instead of lifting and putting them on dollies, I was lucky to have a house or any furniture left when they were through...When the truck finally got to the storage unit they refused to unpack the truck until after I paid them....I was not about to argue with two guys in a dark deserted area all alone..

Do not under any circumstances trust this company. They lied to me every step of the way and stole items during the move.
They were scheduled to arrive at between 9-11am to pick up my items. They did not arrive until close to 6pm. As a result I incurred additional expenses because of their failure to properly notify me in changes to the agreed upon time. I had to pay someone additional fees for waiting 6 hours and 45 minutes. Upon their arrival the agent demanded additional fees that were previously agreed upon beforehand with the broker. At that point the agent’s employee guaranteed that any disassembled furniture would be reassembled upon delivery. The agent refused to honor the broker’s price and method of payment resulting in a week’s delay in delivery. A representative named Randi at 866-573-9031 ext 305 with Movers Group Inc, (Agent) contacted me on June 22 and demanded a wire transfer and told me they would retain possession of my items until they received a cash payment. Previously it was agreed upon with Mike (Broker) at the time of the contract that the same method of payment used to make the deposit would be used to pay the first half of the remainder at pick up. It was agreed upon that I would have an authorized representative on site at the pickup location to sign the credit card transaction.
When my items were finally delivered, multiple items were damaged, several beyond repair. Additionally an entire notebook computer is missing and is presumed stolen or lost. The movers were unwilling to deliver the items to my apartment and were instead left in the lobby. None of the items that were disassembled were reassembled. I was overcharged at the initial pickup. The Movers Group pretended to be the same company as Domestic Movers and in doing so confounded efforts to communicate with anyone at either agency regarding issues as they arouse.
Attempts to Contact Agency: The first time I attempted to contact Mike regarding issues was on June 18 in regard to the late pick up as well as additional fees. I left a message which was never returned. My authorized card signer also left numerous messages for Mike on that day, none of which were returned. I emailed the address from which Mike sent the credit card authorization form on June 23, June 25, July 1, July 2, July 8, and July 9. All of these emails went unanswered. I also made numerous phone calls to the number I had on file. The vast majority of these were directed to a voicemail system, where I was informed the voicemail was full and was unable to leave any kind of a message or to speak to an actual representative. On several occasions I was able to speak with either Giovanni or David. In both instances they said they were shocked to hear about the various issues, they would look into it, that my stuff should be delivered by the end of the week, and that they would call me back. They never called me back. On July 13, the date of delivery, my stepfather was able to get Mike on the phone. My stepfather explained that they were now demanding an extra $200 to move furniture via elevator. Mike said that was not correct, that he would contact the agent to resolve the issue and get back to us. That was the last contact we had with Mike. Later that day I received a phone call from Giovanni who told me virtually the same thing. That was the last time I had contact with Giovanni. As I have not been able to reach them and no one has made any effort to return my phone calls I have sent a letter itemizing the damaged, destroyed, and lost items by certified mail. At this time I have heard no response. Only after I froze charges with my credit card did they get back in touch with me. Randi emailed me and said that if there was any problems with their service it was news to them. She then asked that I call them. I emailed back that they did know there had been issues and that I had tried to call them repeatedly. I have not heard anything from them since.

I've moved several times in the past , most of the time with different companies but i just had the best move in my life on the last week with The movers group. Marian gave us a guaranteed price over the phone and help us plan our move. Soon their local dispatch called us and confirmed the job and went over the details. He also seemed very polite and professinal,- i believe hi's name was Chris- and assured us everything is going as it planed and the movers will come tomorow @ 9 am. Not only did they show up on time but they packed nearly our entire apartment. Shortly after arriving Cleo the forman provided us with detailed information about the day and they started to work right away. Thank god they came with extra boxes and moving supplies and actually that we didn't even realize we will be needed! The packing obviously took much longer but once we arrived at our house they unpacked us in record time and even help us to reassemble our furniture. This was a painless move and really had a great time with the movers. ( Sorry I can't remember everybody's names.... ) The guys were very nice and honest and they couldn' t make the move more faster and more efficient and i must say, we were extremely pleased with their service. Very fast, friendly and efficient and very professional company which I wouldn't hesitate to use again and highly recommend to everybody ! Best movers I've ever used. I had an outstanding service with them. will definitely refer my friends to the movers group next time anyone needs to move!

Hi Sal, I just wanted to thank you so much for sending you guys out to move us last Friday.we moved from fl to ca and They were wonderful! All three of them Jose,Mickel and the driver Shon were very courteous, they arrived on time, they were polite, and they worked hard and fast. All of our furniture and boxes were handled carefully and not one thing was broken. We have hired movers in the past who were less than honest, worked slowly, and were very unprofessional. Not your men… I worked right alongside them, and I will definitely recommend them to my friends in the future! Again, thank you so much for making this the least stressful move that we have ever done! Sincerely, Ryan Morgan and family

To follow is a letter I wrote to this company about why I felt my experience with them makes them a disreputable company. What I would like is a refund of $450.00 which the extra amount they charged me after they gave me a final total cost. Dear Movers Group, What a horrible experience it was dealing with this company. When I was negotiating to arrange this move, it was amazing how nice everyone was. Randi was a nice understanding lady that gave me a comfort level that I was dealing with a company that cared, was professional. Competitive, and honest. None of that happened. Wow, did Randi change once you had my daughters merchandise. Like Jekkyl and Hyde. Nice Randi and Not nice Randi. Everybody else involved in this company I would say falls into the same category as Randi.
You sent me a contract with the total price for the pick up and delivery for everything I described that I had. The only change would be if I had more or less the price would be adjusted accordingly. I was told that I would receive 24 hr. notice when they we were coming to pick up. Then when I didn’t hear from them 24 hrs. in advance, I called and I was told that they usually call between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. That didn’t happen. We received 1 hr. notice the day they came. Then the bullshit started with the pick up where you said if I don’t pay to wrap the furniture you won’t do the job. Talk about high pressure. You know people need stuff picked up and that it would be difficult to find someone else to do the job on such short notice. After I agreed to pay $37 for 2 or 3 items to be wrapped, they had the owner/manager from Florida call me and he told me I had to wrap the stuff. He said the stuff will get damaged if I don’t wrap it. We agreed on $300.00 extra to wrap everything. It would been nice if your company would have been honest and upfront with people and tell them that there will likely be additional wrapping charges.
Then you force me to sign all these papers that I questioned of the main pick up man, and he said don’t worry about that…it’s standard and you have to sign it. I questioned the 60 cents per pound allowance for damaged or missing merchandise, and he said I had to sign it. Of course that’s a great deal for you. You steal the 40 pound plasma TV and you only have to reimburse me $24.00. He said I could always sue you for more. I said I am not the sueing type. I just want an honest job done for an honest price. Then there was the discussion about this sheet of paper you wanted me to sign about paying an extra $75 for each flight of stairs. When I contracted the deal, I told you the pick up was on the 2nd floor and the delivery was on the 3rd floor. It even says that on the contract. You never told me I had to sign a document agreeing that I would pay you extra for higher floors. When I questioned that of the man that called me from Florida , he said don’t worry about that. He agreed not to charge me for the 2nd floor pick up or the 3rd floor delivery. I assume he “waived” these charges since he dragged $300.00 more out of me. He said if I pay for everything now, there will be no amounts owed upon delivery. I also told the guy that the most important thing to me was to try to get the stuff delivered when my wife and I were going to be in NY with my daughter at her apt. I gave them a 4 day window, and the man said just put down the 1st available date and we should be able to do it for you. Well that didn’t happen either.
On Tuesday August 18th, I received a call from Katy to see if we would be there on the 20th. I said Yes. I asked her if you would be there on the 20th. She said she doubted it, but she would contact dispatch and call me back. She didn’t call me back EVER. I kept calling and I left more messages to find out when we would get it. Then after a few days, I couldn’t even leave messages because the voice mail was full.
So then I spoke to “nice as pie” Randi on Thursday the 20th and she said they were loading the truck in Chicago (7 days after you picked it up in Chicago). I asked when I could expect it and she said she will find out and call me back. Nice Randi NEVER called me back. 6 days after Katy said she will call me back, I finally reached Katy on Monday the 24th. She said she would call me back and she finally did and said the delivery will come on the 25th (of course my wife and I were back in Chicago by this time). The delivery men called me on Monday and said it will be there tomorrow afternoon. He asked me what floor it was on and I said the 3rd floor. He asked me if there was an elevator and I said no. He never said they were going to pull what they pulled as described in the next paragraph. He mentioned that I had a zero balance that I was prepaid in full and I said that was correct.
Now is when your company starts more crap. The truck gets there and tells me daughter they won’t open the truck gate unless she gives them $150.00 they wont deliver the merchandise unless she pays them $150 CASH because she is on the 3rd floor. My daughter put the driver on the phone with me and he said she had to pay it. I said my contract states that she is on the 3rd floor. I had already paid in full. He said he will have to call his office. The next phone call I get is from a Witch named Randi. She was no longer the nice Randi I had dealt with when I was making my deal. She was so nice when she reassured everything will go smoothly. She said if my daughter doesn’t give them $150.00, she will have the drivers bring the goods back to the warehouse. I explained to her until I was blue, about my conversations with the man in Florida and the fact that my contract stated it was on the 3rd floor. She was like talking to a brick wall. She said pay the $150 or it goes back. Obviously the way your scam works is you have people in a situation that you know you have to be the winner. So I called my daughter and told her to go to the bank and get the money.
Now they deliver everything and they check everything off on the list and leave. My daughter called me that she didn’t get the TV stand. I asked her if she had it checked off and she said she didn’t know because it was so hard to read the paper. Her copy was a bad copy and the drivers took the original. Then she noticed that she also didn’t have the TV. The drivers were still in her parking lot, so I called them and said she is missing the TV and the TV cart. They said hold on, let me check the truck. They came back and said they are not on the truck. So I knew this was the completion of the scam. I was forced to sign a document that states you only need to reimburse me 60 cents per pound. Well you have quite a scam going. Nowadays, plasma and lcd TV’’s are very lightweight. I figure the TV weighed 40 pounds, so you get to reimburse me $24.00. The driver then said he will go upstairs and look for the items. They didn’t find them. So they went back to the truck and guess what, they found the TV and the TV stand (both items were large—couldn’t be missed). I guess they felt sorry for my daughter (she may have been crying) since she was young and innocent and had second thoughts about taking advantage of her. I am thankful for that but certainly your drivers in my opinion gave it a good try to steal the TV and stand.

I planned on moving my things from my home in Orlando to my new home in New York City. I put online that I'm searching for a moving company and quite a few called me. The Movers Group got my attention because they quoted us a price based on Square Footage and not by weight like the majority of companies so the price was lower. The representative Iris was very nice and was always available when we had any questions until the day of the move.
I described everything that I intend on moving and they emailed me the quote. The representative Iris was so attentive. I wanted to move on 8/1/09 which fell on a Saturday.
On the day of the move we got no call as to what time they would be coming. We waited until noon and there was no answer because the company was closed on weekends which we weren't aware of. The movers didn't show up until 4PM.
When they arrived they seemed shocked at the things that we were moving. We told them to have the dispatcher call us. The driver went outside on his phone and then he drove the truck away.
The dispatcher called us and we told him the truck left. He said he will call them. They returned 25min later. They came in the house and started to look at everything and said they will have to charge extra to wrap our furniture which we were told that is covered in the quote. We were told that they wrap the furniture with their own sheets and then plastic seal them.
The ridiculous difference in the price was outrageous. We told them we couldn't pay that much in the difference. They left and refused to return our deposit to us.
