My experiences have been similar to others. The customer service is not impolite, but ineffective. I asked to be removed from the mailing list last month (after I made an attempt to be removed online) and I’m still receiving mailings from their company. This comes after years of, what I would consider, misleading marketing. When a piece of mail arrives from Personnel Concepts, it elicits an immediate emotional response. Because the marketing is created in the style or the IRS or another government agency, I can’t help but getting a feeling “in the pit of my stomach” that something is dreadfully wrong. The fear, however, turns to frustration when I see it was just an attempt to manipulate a consumer’s judgment. My predecessor, while recognizing that their advertising is misleading, did business with the company because she was not able to find an economically feasible alternative. Since then, I have found a perfecting good substitute.
I work for a non-profit organization, and it angers me that a “for profit” company uses such obviously deceptive tactics to take money from an organization that is interested only in giving back to others. For that reason alone, I would recommend finding an alternative for your human resource needs.
