Invicta repair business (Hollywood Florida) is a scam - possibly criminal enterprise
I have had the same experience as several of the other reviewers. Sent a 6-month old Invicta watch to the Florida repair center for repair, along with the $28 return shipping charge that must be paid in advance. (There's a red flag). After several weeks of waiting, finally was able to get confirmation that they received the watch. I then had to pay in advance, about $80 for the repair. Then the watch is allegedly sent off to Switzerland for repair. Their site warns that you must be patient, as repairs may take "up to 90 days." 90 days came and went -- no watch. After the watch had been gone about 4 months, I start raising the pressure. Their so-called customer service department tells me that they are willing to send me a replacement watch - not the same exact model but a very similar one. I take the bait and say, okay, fine -- send me the new watch that has a different dial. Good enough. Oopps... Another message indicating that there's been a "mix-up" and they don't actually have that watch in stock, either. So they tell me to look around for some watch models that sell for the same price I paid for my original watch on Amazon, and that if I send them five or six model numbers of watches equal or less costly, they'll see what they have in stock and send me the new one. Oh -- but I won't get a box or other accessories, just the watch. Is this for real? I suspect this is just a delay tactic...I will be surprised if I ever see my original watch or the (alleged) "new" replacement watch. And through all of this, they never once offered to find out where exactly in the "repair" process is the watch that I sent to them four months ago! Why can't I get my own watch back? Do they send the watches to Switzerland and they simply get lost? I suspect that this is a criminal enterprise. The fact of the matter is, they could and probably do make a substantial profit by never bothering to repair most of these watches -- at least not ones that have to go overseas. It is easier for them to keep the watch - maybe they refurbish them to use as "replacements" for other suckers -- who knows?) They get an upfront $28 for shipping, so they make that money if they never send you anything. And that's even if you were fortunate enough to use a credit card to pay the repair costs, so you can dispute those charges. Oh...one other thing...their communications have a tag line that says "Replacements are only processed on Tuesdays and Thursdays." Okay....how many of these Invicta watches have to be replaced by the repair center, anyway? Why do they not repair them? Hmmm...perhaps because they are junk, and it's cheaper to replace junk with junk -- rather than repair it? Check the Better Business Bureau. Last time I did, Invicta had over 1000 (!) complaints and a F rating. C'mon Florida Attorney General -- you have a business in Broward County that is engaging in interstate fraud! At what point are you going to do something. Considering buying one of these watches? I agree with the other reviewer who said, you need to think of it as "disposable." The service center is a scam.
